I hope you all had a great week 2. Personally I had a great running and walking week, and some nice vanilla slices 😋
It’s never too late to join, and also we have people completing their quests and maybe needing a bit of extra rest and recovery.
Have a wonderful week everybody.
What is the Quest?
The aim of the Quest is to help you find a focus or goal that you would like to achieve by the end of the Quest period.
The Quest takes one calendar month. You can join at any point during that time.
We ask that you are a C25K Graduate before joining the Quest. The reason for this is that pre-graduation your week is very much structured according to the C25K programme, and we wouldn't want the Quest to interfere with that.
Most popular goals are:
★ To run three times a week
★ To slowly increase distance
★ To train for a specific race
★ To add Stretch and Strength exercises to your weekly routine
The Quest is a personal challenge, so it's completely up to you!
Happy running and/or cross-training!!!

The only addition to my usual quest is that I take my shiny new Brooks Ghosts healthunlocked.com/bridgeto...... out for their maiden run after work this evening and get some dust in their treads...
I'm glad you had a great week Neil and vanilla slices😋yum!
You are going to be so proud of me for my Quest last week, I am😉... on Tuesday Mr BBr and I drove to Windsor, and we both ran my Windsor 10k route using the 60/60 Galloway method... it was quite sunny at the start too... and we didn't take water with us. We both really enjoyed it and did it in a very pleasing time too. Mr BBr set up an app which beeps the intervals, and we stayed together all the way round. It was a first 10k for him. 💪
During the week I did a Pilates session and two longish walks, then a quickish 5k run yesterday evening as night fell...
So five activities counting towards the active badge on Strava for the week.
Edit* escape plan badge...
This week we are aiming to repeat the Windsor 10k run again (see how much we enjoyed it😁) and maybe do Parkrun on Saturday. I will do Pilates for strength training and hopefully some walking...
My number has arrived for my race, but I'm not so scared now, actually looking forward to it!😊
What a great week. Congratulations to Mr BBr on that first 10k. I’m trying to get to Windsor in October for a weekend, but I won’t be able to do that 10k... I think my friend has Black Park parkrun lined up for me. Well done with the variety last week too, and it sounds like you’re gonna have another wonderful week this time around.
I’m looking forward to receiving my number for my event... hopefully it won’t scare me!
What a brilliant week Bluebird. Well Done you. That Galloway method is really suiting you and Mr "I just woke up and decided to do 10km" Bluebird. You are going to love your race, i just know it. Pilates is fab isn't it? I had a class tonight and there were only 2 of us so she adjusted my postures every 2 minute. I'll be sore tomorrow Enjoy your 10km once more this week. xx
I had a very good week, on Saturday 7th September I ran a PB 5K and the following Wednesday I ran a 10K, my second in just over 70 minutes.
Yesterday I was a spectator at my towns annual 10K, I almost wished that I had been running in it as there was for the first time a 70 minute pacer, if I had ran in it I would have just kept behind the 70 minutes pacer for the whole run. 🏃 😊
Great week. You’ll have to run it next year... maybe following the 60 minute pacer... maybe pacing the 70 minuter even! Congratulations on the PB over 5 too. Have another great week Al
I was just looking at the catorgary age results in that 10K that I was a spectator at yesterday, there were 5 +70 year olds, of whom 3 ran it sub 60 minutes, 2 +80 year old men, one who ran it in 56 minutes, the other 1 hour 22 minutes.
You did something I found truly amazing at your event... can you play midfield for my United? They could use someone who can run!
Sometimes the best target is no target... you’re closing out many weeks of work, and after a race then it’s time for the running to be relaxed. If I get sub 24 ever I’ll take a month off!
No, I've given Super Johnny Coleman first refusal - though I did support United in my youth after Stanley folded in 1962, because I could use the same scarf
Didn’t realised the HM was midweek... have a good un.
I have a slightly niggly knee and I had planned to do my 10.5km (+0.5km) tomorrow. I may just do 6km and do my 10.5km on Friday. I'll see how I feel tomorrow. I had a very enjoyable Pilates class and I also struggled with a 5km because of my knee and heavy legs. I did it though. Feeling excited by my 10 mile plan and I'm going to work on strength and core to make sure I get there injury free. Have a good quest week everyone.
Sounds like a smart decision there if not 100% tomorrow then going shorter would be good. I switch my runs around a lot, I need to be right going into my long run, so I try to do it early in the week, but it’s often moved to the weekend!
Strengthening can only help... and I have to remind myself of this a lot when I get to speed squats or side planks 🤣. Being as injury proof as possible really helps us relax into the runs though.
