I ran 1k

In 9 minutes and 26 seconds, phew, that was far enough but I'm glad I went out.I've been going round saying I'll get out every day, even if it's only a 5 minute run it's better than nothing.... .and not actually doing it!!! 😯

So this morning I put leggings on instead of jeans , still wore a hoodie over my thin top though, it's cold out there.

I walked a few minutes, probably around half a kilometre, I didn't start the watch for the warm up walk. Then off I ran, kept going for a fraction over 10 minutes then back to a walk and home I went.

So that's day 1,

I still say leggings are like satsumas! Peel a satsuma and you eat it.....put leggings on and you run 😁.

Run happy or rest well all.

It's misty and murky and next doors hedge is covered in cobwebs And dew drops

Very misty and murky here on the opposite coast too, and it was a mental struggle to get out. That and the cat deciding to curl up on my lap whilst I was on the loo.

well done SueAppleRun …I’ve done that in the past…put my running gear on ready for when I’m ready…it works…might have to try it again..thanks for the reminder 😜

It really does work,no peeled a couple of satsumas this afternoon too 🤣🤣🤣

Yesletsgo profile image

Just don't get your satsumas and leggings mixed up SueAppleRun . While it's a great idea to peel a satsuma then run you don't want to risk eating your leggings!! 😂

That’s a lovely photo Sue! Well done on getting out there, even if it is only for a short while - as you say, it’s so much better than not doing it! I’m really pleased for you!

Thanks 😁 I finished my jumper yesterday, I had to do something 🤣🤣🤣 it's the first fairisle I've ever done

Proper impressed with your jumper Sue! I’ve always avoided Fairisle. Happy to do stripes and Aran patterns but it’s something about the wools getting tangled up. 🤣 Maybe you’ve inspired me. Another job for when I retire! Xx

SueAppleRun profile image
SueAppleRunGraduate1060minGraduate in reply toRunKRun

Aww thanks, I'd always avoided fairisle before but have enjoyed the challenge, and did get the hang of not letting the wool get all tangled up xx

it’s been a murky couple of days down here on south coast too. A huge well done to you Sueapplerun, sense of achievement must be huge for you 🥰, listen to your body though and don’t overdo it. Slow and steady as we all know.

SueAppleRun profile image
SueAppleRunGraduate1060minGraduate in reply toTetleyteagirl

Thanks, yes I think a lot of the country has been murky and foggy but hopefully will clear soon.I can only do slow and steady nowadays but with consistency I might improve 😁

Congratulations on your run, SueAppleRun ! Since HU tells me you posted this 17 hours ago, I can't help but ask: Did you put on the leggings again today? 😉

Thank you also for the beautiful photo! Spiderwebs are so amazing!!!

SueAppleRun profile image
SueAppleRunGraduate1060minGraduate in reply toChannelRunner2

The webs are beautiful aren't they, to answer your question about leggings, not yet, I don't get going that early lately and have had a heating problem to deal.with.

I am, sadly, forever putting on the leggings and not running... (but it is still more effective than not putting on the leggings at all)

Bravo for your kilometre (and your time, I am very happy with under 10 minutes these days)

SueAppleRun profile image
SueAppleRunGraduate1060minGraduate in reply toGoogleMe

There probably have been days when I've put the leggings on but not run. I was thrilled with my time too, since I got ill back in July I haven't run much and most of my kilometres have taken 11-12 minutes, mind you, when I came out of hospital at the end of August I felt triumphant if I could walk to the kitchen to make tea and back, so although a long slow journey it's getting there. I couldn't have run another kilometre at that pace

GoogleMe profile image
GoogleMeGraduate10 in reply toSueAppleRun

Yep!

(Got my leggings on. Christmassy ones)

GoogleMe profile image
GoogleMeGraduate10 in reply toGoogleMe

Oh and the satsumas have just been sliced up and turned into a quick marmalade 😆

SueAppleRun profile image
SueAppleRunGraduate1060minGraduate in reply toGoogleMe

Delicious 😃 what a good idea, rather than leaving the ones you don't eat to go mouldy

Wow! Great news Sue! Impressive. I love your leggings/satsuma analogy. It will stay with me and I’ll remember it when I need a little motivation. Setting yourself up nicely to start 2025 on a positive note. Love the photo. Xx

SueAppleRun profile image
SueAppleRunGraduate1060minGraduate in reply toIrishprincess

Thanks IP, I was puffing like a train but not in any discomfort. Not sure where the satsuma/leggings theory came from but one day I had peeled a satsuma and eaten it without even thinking.....and realised it was the same with leggings 🤣

Well done! You got out there, that's what counts😊 what you said about leggings, I agree 100%.......I was standing looking out if the kitchen window yesterday, still wearing my jammies......nope, not inspiring me at all.......went back upstairs, put running gear on, and hey presto, I'm out and running instead of procrastinating about running! 🤣 Happy running everyone!🏃‍♀️
