It's been more of a challenge to get out there lately so a few weeks ago I decided to stick to two runs a week, a Wednesday after work and a Sunday morning...with no excuses for deviation unless it was icy or I was sick.
This morning I put it off until 11am, hoping the rain and wind would ease off a bit, or maybe it would warm up...it didn't so off I went. π«£
My running jacket and everything else I was wearing got soaked through, my cap blew off and I had to chase it down the road , my feet got blown to the side a few times so I had to take it easy when it was really windy, I had to run through flood water once and got a lovely facial from the driving icy rain π
It was fab and very invigorating...easy to say that now I'm showered and snug on the sofa with a cappuccino βοΈ

I read that you'd had the flu recently, awful illness...hoping you're on the mend enough to enjoy Christmas, even if you're not quite ready for a run yet π€
well done you. Getting out the door this time of year is very hard. I got a new Garmin watch recently and Iβm following a training plan on it which motivates me to get out when it tells me to. So Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday are my run days. It pushes me out in all weather, storms and all.
Wow, you did better than me, I looked out, saw the tree in my front garden waving around like mad and went back to bed, then had breakfast, looked out and the sun was shining, too late, couldn't run after food. So well done you and enjoy this Christmas week π your run sound great actually.
Thanks Sue, that's the challenge at this time of year isn't it...it's either cold or wet or dark, and very tempting to give it a miss. Sometimes we beat the gremlins, sometimes we don't even try ππ΄
Yes these are character building runs and you feel even better after battling the elements. I am trying to tick over 2 times a week ( maybe 3 if I can) during these winter days. Maintenance runs to stay in the groove. Well done bet that coffee tasted good. π
Yes, that's probably half of the enjoyment...feeling chuffed with yourself that you came out regardless. It's good to have something to feel a little proud of yourself for, and running is it π
The coffee was lovely, as was the snuggly jumper π
