There’s big news on Bridge! We have new Graduate5k badges. Santa’s elves have been hard at work and I’m happy to announce that from today, if you have run the distance of 5k, you can request a virtual badge to appear next to your name. It’s a real milestone, often the first one after finishing Couch to 5k, and we wanted to recognise that with the new badge.

If you’ve already got a 60 minute or 10k badge, you might not want to swap your current badge for a 5k one. It’s totally up to you though! Your new and shiny badge will only appear on Bridge to 10k, and not on any other boards you post on. You’ll be able to request a Graduate5k badge on the Bridge seasonal badge thread as soon as the next one goes up.

But, as a Christmas Special, if you’ve run 5k and you’d like a badge, drop us a line below and one of the team will happily pin one on.

Not sure if I should ask for 5K or 10K. I reached 10K in training but never made it to a 10K event due to my stress fracture...

If you ran 10k, that counts. There’s no requirement for it to be at an event! Keep your Graduate10…you’ve earned it!

Can I quickly ask where your got the idea that graduate badges have to be earned at events from? That’s something none of us admins want anyone to be thinking! I can change the wording on a rogue post if it’s something I’ve inadvertently written!

Nowhere, really...my goal was an event which I didn't make but I was very pleased to have hit 10K multiple times. More my thinking than any posts...
