Well it’s rather nice out there at the moment, isn’t it! Anyone else making the most of the weather? Cold but bright? I ran in sunglasses and a short-sleeved t-shirt. I almost wished I’d gone for shorts! I’m liking this version of November!
I’ve been stuck in front of the laptop for what feels like days and I decided I’d be more productive if I took an hour off and got some fresh air. Torn between walking or running, I went out in my run kit just in case I felt like breaking into a trot. After five minutes, it was cold enough to want to warm up a bit so off I went! This was a totally improvised route. I knew my plan had 5 miles on it for my next run but wasn’t sure if I fancied that far. I just thought I might as well enjoy making it up as I went along and stopping when I felt like it.
It was so good to just be away any thoughts of work and zone out with a podcast. Before I knew it, I’d actually covered 3.8 miles so doing 5 seemed pretty easy. That would have been the case if I’d done a tiny bit more thinking about my route and not finished with a 1 mile climb to end. Still, a very satisfying run with a lot of beautiful views. There was even a hot air balloon at one point. 5 miles run with 10 minutes walking (5 to warm up, 5 to cool down) in almost exactly an hour altogether. I’m counting that as a win!
And now…back to work! I’ll let you know if it suddenly turbo charged my productivity!!

MissUnderstanding nice run for you today, it makes such a difference if the weather is as good as it was this morning, glad you enjoyed your run as well as I did too,
I ran my 56th 10K today, my 8K split time was about the same as yours at 59 minutes, I like to run 8K sub one hour, my overall time for #56 /10K was 1:13:34 which I am pleased with, the weather was dry but not as sunny as your 8K, still very pleasant.
Thanks Al! Sounds like you had a great run-that’s super time for a 10k too. Congratulations! I’m always impressed with how you know how many times you’ve run 10k. I never thought to keep track but I wish I had!
That sounds like a fantastic run, the best sort where you're running because you want to, not because a plan or some other external voice is telling you.
Thank you! It was great! I was so pleased with myself for running and getting to quite such a distance too. I didn’t think that was on the cards this morning! Plus, when I did get back to work I was on turbo power and got loads done. I’ve just submitted two big projects and I’m super happy. A good result all round!
We often get fog here but today it was beautiful! I just assumed if it was nice here (which is usually like something out of a horror show!) it was nice everywhere else.
