5 miles an hour

Well well well it’s been a funny week due to heavy snow and sheet ice but I managed to slot in a 1K, 3 miles and...5 miles! It was a lovely, sunny, peaceful hour of running. The roads were very quiet, the sun was surprisingly warm. 5 miles flew by as I daydreamed along, sticking to the more main roads to avoid any slips.

And to think I dreaded Week 5 Run 3 of C25K! What has this forum done to me, I was actually looking forward to running a long distance! I used to fear running, my heart would pound, I’d feel nervous, I wouldn’t want to go. Now (sometimes) it feels as natural as breathing. Thank you to all for converting me into a runner, this forum has been the catalyst in that journey!

Still chasing the 10K 🤗

That's simply brilliant Hidden you'll get that 10k goal for sure 💪, you can either increase your running time, or distance each run both will end up with you getting there! But remember don't increase your that distance everytime, dropping back down for a restful run is a great idea as well good luck 🙂

Well done Hidden you’re doing so well! You know now to take it steady and you’re even enjoying it. You can’t ask for more than that🙂👍I’m sure you’ll make it to 10K, just keep going as you are and don’t try to do too much. I know it’s tempting, but you don’t want to risk an injury at the moment. You’ve got a whole spring and summer of running ahead of you, after all! Good luck 😃

What an amazing journey you’ve had to reach the point of looking forward to longer runs, fantastic, and they will get easier as you move into spring. Happy running 🤗

I'm about the same time over 8km (which is near enough 5 miles).

10km is just another 15 minutes or so longer.
