Just another run on my return to C25k glory: week 7 run 1. 25 min continued running.
Run felt great (I think my rowing kept me fit, so I’m not really struggling with these short runs yet).
More importantly, I have started to don my gaiters (from a sale more than a year ago) so that I do not have any skin bare at my ankles.
I always thought these gaiters would be great for hiking with normal running shoes, but it turns out they are the perfect nettle-proofing tool for the summer-autumn run!
So any nettles on my path (and there is that section!!) do not have a chance to sting me.
Works great.
Any other fab ideas to keep things that sting, bite or hurt you at bay?

Clever! I like the idea of combining your approach with Old Floss’s. How about docks tethered to the gaiters just in case there is a chance encounter??? 🤣🤣🤣
I’m impressed you can run in gaiters…mine are way too hot. Maybe I need a kit upgrade… any excuse!!
We’ve got loads of nettles around here and I just try and run in long leggings and socks that come up over the bottom hem of them when I know I’m on a nettle-filled route. That doesn’t always work and I still get stung through clothes. One of the “joys” of running I guess!
