Back to my routines and a revisit of STAMINA

Revisited C25k+ STAMINA today, as part of my plan, running a 3rd run in the week. Went ok, but does take quite an effort to run. At 160BPM for 20 min. But doable and that’s much more than when I ran it last, more than a year ago, and at that time tried desperately to keep up the cadence.

This time around, it wasn’t a nice picture and not a comfortable run, but 5th fastest run on my Runkeeper of 248 runs. So pretty good I think and the other 4 faster runs might all be similar attempts to run at higher cadence or intervals.

In my other workout efforts, squats are getting deeper again and knees less painful and I think this is due to getting those gluten-croissants out of my system from last weeks work-hosting-splurge. Gluten-free certainly works for me! (But that nibble on a croissant was heavenly and the first croissants for 2 years at least!)

Pilates is also back on track so I’m beginning to be very happy!

And on Sunday, I’ve signed up for a Halloween virtual 10k. That’s great as I think I currently need that medal motivation. I’ve not run 10k for 14 days and it’s going to be hard, I think. It’s also supposed to rain, so I do think I will have deserved that pumpkin medal 🎃 once I’ve run that 10k.

Happy running everyone!

Thank you. I’m beginning to understand why you said Squats are your best friend! I’m there with you! (Took me only a year of running… 😏😁)

I just bob up and down doing squats when no one is looking 😀and they’ve definitely made my legs stronger, the other one is heel lifts (up on toes and back down) I do those even when there are people around and when I’m tiring on a run it’s the spring in my feet that keep me going

Yeah! I might add them as well. They were in my Pilates today!

G'luck on your virtual 10K. A pumpkin medal sounds like a nice bling to have!

Yeah, I was quite attracted to it as it looks like a fun large Halloween-y necklace! 🤣🤣 so I can wear it every Halloween reminding me of my run! Now I just have to earn it by running tomorrow! 🤣🤣

Good luck for your pumpkin run! You are doing well! I did those nhs plus runs at the end of c25k too and found them a challenge. Might try again now like you have! I've been doing the NHS runners exercises for my knee which involves squats...

Yeah, I do find the squats really improve my knees. And I’ve not been doing them regularly for long.

hi, wow you are working hard and doing a lot of variety not just running which is really good. Ive been guilty of over doing the running, and just running hard every other day to improve my time and actually you've reminded me, I keep meaning to go back to the C25K post runs, particularly the Stamina and Speed one, so thank you!

Glad your hips are getting better and less painful. Good luck on the 10K tomm, you grab that well deserved medal in the virtual race tomm! Which one are you doing??

🏃‍♀️

Halloween Run 2021 from Virtual Runners. virtualrunners.org/products...

Yeah, I had to plan a bit of more variety into my runs as well. And these virtual races help keep it exciting, as well. It also trains me to have to run on a particular day, so with them I’m slowly inching toward running in public races! 😱🤣
