After a week in hospital they are releasing me into the wild. Going home will be the first step back to normality xx

Looks like I'm going home this evening
Good news that you’re out of hospital Sue. I hope you get stronger and feel well enough to get back to running soon.
Not quite out but all packed ready to go, I'm thinking walks first, it's going to take a while, dunno where my muscles went but they ran away and I now have skinny scrawny arms and legs
Excellent news Sue! I bet you're looking forward to being home and slowly building back up to regular running again. Sending loads of healing vibes xx
oh Sue! Sorry I missed that you had been in hospital 🤦🏻♀️
Glad to hear you’re going home…some nice gentle walks sound ideal to build up your strength.
💐💐💐
Great news Sue, you are certainly on the mend, once you are outside take all your walking slowly, gradually increasing pace only when you feel ready.
How wonderful to read SueAppleRun We both wish you all the very best in your recovery. Take good care of yourself and may you regain strength and health in good time ❤
That’s great news. I’m sure you’re looking forward to being back in the peace and quiet of your own home to continue recuperating. I hope you are feeling much better. 💐
So sorry you have been unwell SueAppleRun . I pop on and off the forums when I can but I have also missed this. Here’s hoping that you can rebuild your strength and feel better soon. x
I so hope you've escaped and are now back in the comfort of your own home SueAppleRun , whether watching TV (without a 🔭) or squandering a fortune online shopping.
If I lived in the UK I'd send you some of the stuff I've been baking, as it sounds like you need to regain weight, unlike me 🐘
Unfortunately by the time it reached you it (goodies not jumbo or weight) would be well past edibility and probably growing its own family and friends.
Have a hug instead 🤗
Thank you so much, I've got to be careful and work out what I can eat and what may trigger another flare, I am keeping to very bland things, it's lovely to be home, sat on the sofa and watching a familiar film 😀 mind you, if you've been baking recipes are always nice shared
Today I made Dan Lepard's cherry beet cake for the first time: theguardian.com/lifeandstyl... Though I shoved it all into one tin, and used a bit of almond-flavoured buttercream instead of whipped cream. Came out much better than I'd expected. Sadly I fear it's a disaster for your current regime, sorry.
Bon courage ! 😘
Sorry to hear you've been in hospital, hope you feel better soon.Take it easy and gather your strength xx
Sue! I had no idea you were in hospital - I’m so sorry to hear that and wish you well for a speedy recovery. It sounds as if running’s going to be on the back burner for a while but knowing you I feel confident you’ll be back to it before too long!
I just came on to message and see how you were doing. This is such good news. I'm sure you're more than ready for some home comforts! Take it easy though, don't be too keen and do too much too soon because it will all wait for you xxx
I’m glad to hear that you are getting home. Take it easy. Sending lots of hugs and healing!! Xx
Happy home-going. All the best for your recovery 🤞🏽 xxx
Enjoy being back home! That will hopefully improve your spirits.
The runs will be there when you are ready and so will we...
Get well soon!
Glad you're back home Sue - hope your recovery continues to go well
I also somehow missed that you had been quite so poorly and an inpatient for some while.
Whilst you say you have skinny arms and legs now and will have to build back gently whilst eating carefully, imagine if you had not been such a fit and active person in the first place.
Wishing you a good restoration of health, strength and humour. No doubt much patience and resting is needed but it sounds like recovery is underway. Xxxx
How did I miss this? So pleased that you are home; be kind to yourself and take things easily. I am sure that your family will spoil you…..I am making the porridge now. Best start to the day I know. Recovery food 😋🥰
Oh I must have missed some news …. I do hope that you are ok and start to recover your health soon.
wow you have been through the mill! Nothing like being home in your own bed , take it easy you will get back to you it will just take time x
Glad to hear that you are back in the comfort of your own bed. Hooe you had a good night and start to feel stroger soon.
How are things today SueAppleRun ?
You’ve really been through it-so glad that you’re out of hospital and on the road to recovery. All those years of running will have given you the tools to get there-take it steady, be kind to yourself, patience, celebrating all the mini victories along the way. Everyone here is rooting for you on this journey. Sending massive hugs and good wishes your way ❤️🩹
Shocked to hear you ended up in hospital Sue, but very happy to hear you are now back home and starting your healing journey, sitting and enjoying your garden sounds like a great start 🙏
aww bless you, hopefully you feel better just being in your own home, and then you can start your recovery. Take care 😊
Hi Sue, I’ve only just got to my emails today. Glad you did make it home today. The first step to feeling better. You know it’s going to take a while but walking will be great for you. Take advantage of the slow pace to continue to explore where you live. Thinking of you and sending love. Xx
We take so much for granted don’t we? At least you’re in your own home, close to the facilities, should you need them, and slowly building up strength and stamina. It must be good to get out in the open air after being in hospital. Steady and slow as I think Oldfloss would say and she seems to be very wise to me. Take care and shout if I can help at all. Xx
So glad you're home Sue. You'll start to feel better now you're home I'm sure xx
Glad to hear you really have made it out... there's only so much recovering can be done in hospital.
Back into the wild! I understand you perfectly Sue. I hope you’re now comfortably ensconced and on the mend 💪😀
Your own bed 🛌 🤗 It must be wonderful. Much quieter for sure 🙂
Yes much quieter, all those beeps and alarms in hospital. I can't believe how weak I am, I'm shuffling around on skinny stick legs now with no muscle, the consultant did say it would take weeks to get any strength back and I'm.a week in to an 8 week course of steroids so I'm hoping for some small improvement over time,
My own bed is so much more comfortable too 😁 I'm lucky to be here
they do one’s head in! My husband works in that world, and he leaves all his phones and computers “noises” on the whole time. We fell out about it on holiday 😁. I was annoyed he’d taken his work phone with him. He tried to deny it 😁 I suggested he turn the sounds off 🥊 ☹️ He falls asleep and leaves me fuming.
I tried to turn the sounds off on his iPad but only managed to take a photo of my startled face 🤪 Busted! 😁☺️
Wishing you all the best with your recovery SueAppleRun
