felt like I was flying!!

so I’m still progressing with my “ back to running after the IC” . It’s quite hard in this hot weather isn’t it? And for some reason my sleep patterns have changed. I used to wake about 5-5.30 in the summer and run then but, due to noisy neighbours who like to row in the middle of the night, I now seem to wake for an hour or so around 3-4.00am and then drop off again till about 8.30-9.00am. Still after the police visit at 3.45 on Friday night I’m hoping things will quiet down. ( not me that called them although I was close to).

anyway I went for my run this morning but it wasn’t until nearly 9.30 that I actually left the house and by then it was warming up!! I decided to do the B210k week1 podcast, which is 4 x 10 min runs with 1 min walks between and today for some reason it seemed really easy. I’m usually between 14.20on a good day and 15.00 min mile on a bad day and today when I checked my stats at home I ran between 13.32 and 13.53. And it didn’t even feel like I was running hard.

It’s not fast for a lot of people but for me it is and it was the fact it felt easy running and joyful again that pleased me. For so long it’s felt like a slog. And today was lovely. I’ve been smiling to myself ever since I got back. I’ve lost nearly a stone in the last 7 weeks. While I cdn’t run, due to my toe, I went back to Slimming World, and I’m wondering if it felt easier cos I wasn’t carrying so much tonnage!!! 🤣

what ever it was I’m hoping for more runs that feel like that again. Oh and that was another 5k ticked off. 😁😁

🍏 So heartening to read this positive post apart from your noisy neighbours that is. Your are easing back into the joy of running after a difficult season and the happy hormones are the result of the effort and determination that is paying off. Well done!! 👏 Keep smiling! 😊

I was smiling reading about your run and how it felt. When things click, it's such a lovely feeling. You earned this too though with the weight loss and courage to go out there ⭐
