For some reason I feel not really upbeat at the moment (thyroid, menopause, ate something?) and I’ve been under the weather and quite headachy for a few days.
I am drinking plenty of water, and a cold water with lemon 🍋 first thing in the morning, which I started a couple of weeks ago and which I’m beginning to really like!
But I did go out for a 35 min run. It felt hard, exhausting, my heart never came to the usual steady beat, I was out of breath quite a few times.
So clearly I’m fighting something off but I do feel better now after having done my run.
So here’s to the easy runs, the hard ones and all the runs in-between! Keep on running!

Hi CBDB, Not wanting to cause you undue concern but, I've been logging on the Zoe covid study app, they are now saying headache is the number 1 covid symptom, especially if you are vaccinated.
Unfortunately it doesn't qualify you for a PCR test, but you can get one through the app.
CBDB do get checked, not sure where you stay but in Scotland we can collect free lateral flow tests from the chemist, our extended family have been testing twice weekly for over a month now. Hope you feel better soon. Happy running 🤗
Thanks. Yes, I have been fully vaccinated (Astra Zeneca) and we have plenty of the tests at home and I have tested negative. But will test again later in the day, as well.
I have a feeling it’s a different kind of headache, though, from what I have read from the links.
Mine is normally not too bad (as yet). Heat flushes are annoying but manageable. But the headaches, if related to menopause, I really could do without.
Yes, mine is an accumulation of lots of little things, it was getting me down. Luckily I'm fit and healthy enough that hrt isn't very risky and it's helping me a lot. I was already doing as much healthy lifestyle stuff as could be expected.
Ah yes the menopause. Sometimes you could fry an egg on my face! I am in absolute and undeniable agreement with Grannyhugs, I blame it for everything. I’m sorry you’re not feeling yourself, but pleased you ran and it perked you up a bit. Hopefully you’re just a little bit run down, but keep an eye on yourself. 🏃♀️😊🏃♀️😊🏃♀️
Do you think it’s because you’ve been tweaking your thyroid meds? I know you’ve mentioned them and headaches recently. Good for you for getting out there for a run anyway, but take care and be gentle on yourself…we’re all allowed to have ‘under the weather’ days 💕
Thank you. Yeah, it could be related but from tracking, measuring and monitoring it’s more likely that I’m under-medicated than over medicated. And with that I’ll probably be overall less resilient and more susceptible to stress-related tensions. But I am monitoring everything I can. So at some point I’ll hope to see a pattern. Thank you. 🙏☺️😊
Your message really helps me. I’m almost 3 weeks not running following hamstring pain and not feeling motivated to re-start. This message has made me think differently- thank you.Hope you start feeling fully fit soon 😊
Feel much better today, thank you. 😊 🙏☺️. Sending you patience with your hamstrings. If I am anything to go by, we runner’s are quite impatient with our bodies, as they take their time to heal and to get stronger.
Glad you’re feeling better. Thank you for your good wishes - yes, I think patience is required - not something I’m good at! Also need confidence to know that the ability to do 30-35 minutes has not deserted me - time will tell!!
You are still a runner so I’m confident you will run again. How can we not?
We might take a break here and there, long or short, sit on the injury couch, but you just being on here demonstrates that you will want to run again.
And building up to 5k or 10k or for some (not me) 20k is half the fun! I’m planning this winter to work my way up from 5k to 10k for the third time, and looking forward to it. (Winter, as the heat really affected me). So planning another advanced C25k might actually be fun?
Keeping up waking for now and yes you’re right, can’t let the hard work of nearly dying when I did first 60 secs to now doing 34 mins, go to waste! Thank you for your supportive words 😊Hope you’re feeling better
