Nike Run Club

Hiya,

I tried Nike Run Club once before and did not like it. But I hear you guys talk about it regularly and thus would like to try it again. But I only find 22 guided runs when I download the app. I read this morning about a guided run by coach Bennett with tips for running in the heat. I don't find this guided run in the list I get. Can someone help me where I can find this?

I get the feeling that I have the wrong app or maybe most guided runs aren't for Android?

FYI, when opening the app I come to QUICKSTART. Here I can click GUIDED RUNS which is in the tab next to the quickstart. When opening the guided runs, I see a couple of runs and can scroll down to reach ALL RUNS. Opening all runs, I just get 22 runs and none of the ones I read about here?

Thanks, Evy

EDIT: solved! Apparently I have to put my phone language on ENGLISH. My phone language was on DUTCH and then you only get 22 runs (even though they are in English too). When I put my phone language on ENGLISH, I suddenly get all the guided runs.

Are you scrolling sideways as well as down? just a thought

in reply to SueAppleRun

I can't scroll sideways?

Ah, I wonder why? for me when I see the runs I swipe sideways and the pictures move across to show more I swipe the pictures not the whole page

GOT IT!

Apparently I have to put my phone's language on ENGLISH instead of DUTCH. When the phone language is on DUTCH, it only shows 22 guided runs. When the phone language is on ENGLISH, it shows all the runs (now that's a LOT of runs). It's a bit annoying as I am used to my phone in Dutch, but ok let me try it.

Now to look through all these guided runs. What's the heat one called again?

I used to find them irritating but I've really come to appreciate them. It did take a few goes tho. One thing that's a bit annoying is that it takes me forever to find some of the guided runs! I don't know what version of the app you have? I'm on Android. I've just been looking for that particular run . I found it on the guided runs tab, then scroll down to the list of different runs (saved runs, downloades runs etc) and it's under All Runs, but I had to scroll down a long way.

I have Android too and indeed, there doesn't seem to be a search function or anything. I already did find the Lunch run WillowandSola talked about in one of the earlier posts. But now yet the heat one. Will check the list again in a minute.

I did notice there is also a treadmill guided run, might try that one today. With this heat I am not going to go outside, going to try my treadmill again with the fan blowing on me. Can't open the window, cus by the time I get home from work, the sun is shining straight on that window (normally the blinds are before the window, so I hope it won't be too hot in the room).

I kind like not thinking while I run, so I found the talking rather interrupting. Sometimes I just zoned out while they were talking and when I listened again, of course I couldn't follow what they were talking about. I do prefer running without podcasts or music or whatever, preferring to hear the sounds of nature (or cars cough cough). But I will give it a try again.

I’ve just read all the replies to your post BlackScorpion and am now really intrigued about NRC! So I’m going to have to investigate and see how I get on with it (or not!).

I hope you get on with NRC this time. I'm a devotee of coach Bennett (although Cory is good too) - I don't know why but I find that there is something soothing about an inane American accent 😅. The perfect antidote to annoying Welsh sheep 😆🐏🐑🐏🐑🐏🐑🐏🐑🥱

That's a bit mean for our friends in the Netherlands! Why should they have less options!!

in reply to Lifluf

For the Flemish (Belgian) people like me too 😀. I searched online and found the tip of changing your telephone language to English and look an behold, suddenly I went from 22 guided runs to hundreds (or something) guided runs. A whole new world opened up for me, haha.

It is a bit adapting. I'm fluent in English, but I am also very used to my phone in Dutch (Flemish). So I have to get to know my phone again. Also my banking app and such is now in English. As I said, it's not a problem, it's just a bit of adapting because before I did all on automatic pilot and now I have to see where is what.

I just think, if it's in English anyway, why restrict the options. It's bad enough that they don't offer the app in Dutch.

good, glad you solved it, I wouldn't be without the NRC app I love it, so many runs. Sometimes I do the guided runs and sometimes I just set it off to monitor my run and tell me what my pace is. Brilliant App!, 🏃‍♀️😀

Since using NRC my rynning has come on leaps and bounds. I used it to get me up to 10 miles. So many different runs at various levels. Definitely something for everyone. If you really like one of the runs and will use it over and over just hit the little save icon and it stays in your saved runs list 🙂
