To run or not to run...

The answer is always to run but I sure wasn't feeling it today.

I was debating getting out there, making excuses. I could run tomorrow or it was acceptable to take an extra day off (all of which are true).

I put on my running clothes on my lunch hour and still the gremlins kept up. I didn't feel like running, was not looking forward to it and even telling myself that I could come back earlier than the intended 45 minutes on my training plan.

After some mild dynamic stretches, squats and squat jumps - I braved the cold. The wind was out to get me, along with those gremlins. I found a headspace run on NRC, Breaking through Barriers (which couldn't have been more fitting). I kept up and kept on. One foot in front of the other, clip clop, clip clop (yes, I felt a little like a horse being prodded). Pretty soon my 45 minutes were done and the run was complete. I am glad I got out there and did it but it wasn't easy today. It was super difficult but I feel better all around now.

Here is to getting out there when we don't want to!!

There is definitely a different challenge getting outside in the wind and cold in the winter but you did it! Great job! The hardest part is often getting out the door and you aced that today!

Great job. They have a short one called “don’t want to run, run” which that reminded me of! I did breaking through barriers on my 6k, soon be back up there.

Well done getting out there when you didn’t really want to and then beating the tough run. There’s none tougher than the runner. Next one will be smooth and enjoyable no doubt.

Thanks friend! I was looking for that one but didn’t see it this time around. I’ll look for it next time.

We never regret a run do we, it’s a matter of routine because once established the gremlins lose their strength. Each time you beat them that’s a milestone. Well done!!!
