We were warned at the start that this Hogsmill 5 35th year run was the same course as usual but with extra water features. And being nearer the back of the pack the water features were pure mud slide by the time I arrived at them. But let's not focus on that. The rest of the run was on footpaths and grass fields and it didn't actually rain while I was running so all good. I regularly run 10k so a 8k (5 mile) race seemed like a good distance. And with other runners just in front there is always someone to aim to overtake and I hit my target despite walking the slippy parts. I'll be back next year!
