After a crazy period of not having time for anything, I was finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Even halfway through the run, everything was fine. I was delighted by the "Hello" greeting someone left on the road.
But then everything changed in a few seconds.
I was dodging a reckless driver who nearly swept two oncoming cars off the road. And when I wanted to run back up the road, it was as if someone had thrust a red-hot knife into my calf.
The rest of the way, about 3.5 kilometers, I was literally limping in pain.
I went to the doctor today and they say it's a muscle tear from overuse.
I don't really understand it, recently it was just "maintenance runs" along a known route. No other routes. Maybe it has to do with stress... and bad shoes... and lack of time...? But it happened.
I confess that this is what I fear the most: That if I stop running, I won't start again. I can't even imagine how to continue after the break.
Anyway, I'm taking a break for a while and we'll see if I have the will and ability to get back into the routine.
Anyway, I wish everyone: Happy running! 👍

Really sorry this has happened to you lusmo . It’s utterly miserable being on the injury couch and I’m sending lots of sympathy your way.
Sometimes we can look back and spot little niggles and warning signs. Sometimes it’s totally out of the blue. If you’re wanting answers about why this came about, the most helpful person to talk to could be a sports physio who works with runners. They’ll also be able to give you a programme to follow to help your recovery. You’re still a runner-you’re just an injured one right now and you’ll be back. My personal experience is that my injury highlighted some muscle weaknesses that I addressed and I’ve come back stronger than ever. I absolutely wouldn’t have chosen it, but it ended up being the best thing for my running. I really hope that will happen for you too.
For now, Just look after yourself and concentrate on recovery. Really good luck with it ❤️🩹
Today I visited my rehabilitation doctor, he advised me to take a dietary supplement to support healing (Wobenzym - but it is currently not available anywhere), I have a sono examination ahead of me (it is available here in about 14 days at the earliest), he also sent me for a foot print check in of movement (I don't know when that will be, (I have to go to another city for that when there is a free date) so that I have the right insoles and shoes.
He said that if everything went well, then he would allow me to carefully start again. It is not yet clear how long it will take.
I worked from home today, it doesn't hurt so much anymore
He sounds like a very good person to have leading your treatment. I actually miss going to see my physio because he was so supportive, although I didn’t enjoy any of his sports massages! That was good motivation for me to do my exercises. Having an expert you trust involved is just the best thing for getting back on your feet.
Hope all the appointments happen easily and are helpful!
MissUnderstanding has given you an absolutely wonderful reply... the only thing for this old snail to add? Be kind to yourself and just take it slow and steady... the runs are patient. They wait for us x
