I had a trip to London on Tuesday to work on a show and that was pretty tiring. I'd run on Monday, hoping for 30 minutes, but surrendering at 23. So the 30 minute run was Wednesday ... but no, just too tired. Thursday? Nah. So today, for sure. I got up early and put my running gear on, did two lots of easy exercises, did my pre-run stretches, threw up and decided that maybe it wasn't today, after all.
After losing three years to long Covid and easing out of that partly through running, any little setback is something of a hammer blow. I'm pretty sure a 3 day headache and lots of general fatigue is Covid again. I'm frustrated but know that logically I'm not going to lose fitness if I don't run for a few more days. And some days running is simply not possible and "rest"(*) really is the best idea!
Happy running and rowing and exercising for those who can!

Really feel for you, but you've done the right thing and listened to your body. We know the runs can wait and you can pick them back up when you're well again. Maybe your family will look after you over the weekend.
Sorry to hear that… you’re juggling so many things that this is obviously the day, or even these are the days, when you just have to stop. Rest when you have the chance, because you’ll be forced to get going again presumably from school pick up time. Hope you will be feeling better by then..🤞
Your garden looks gorgeous.. Hope you can sit in that sunshine for a little while..☀️
share your pain. I’m just easing back from some viral thing - no idea what but it's been horrid. Gentle increases 15 mins. 20 mins, 25 mins and yesterday managed 35 mins. Just do what you can and it will get better. This has happened a couple of times over the last 2 years and I’m amazed how much better my residual fitness has been even after a setback. It has not taken 9 weeks to get back to normal so be kind to yourself and take it slow
Thank you. Have had a busy few weeks with the kind of schedule that would not have been possible even last summer, when I was doing C25K. Running 3 times a week for 10-11 months has been a game-changer. Right now it feels as though I am still on the way down with this thing; only a headache & muscle ache, but also extreme fatigue. Runs will happen ... sometime! Hope you continue to get well!
