Runkeeper’s 5k plan - Week 4/6

Ok, this morning I was rearing to get out there.

My second run of week 4 (of 6) should have been yesterday, but I really had to do some foam rolling and massage gun-ing after my last few rowing sessions. Even stretching failed to do the trick. My legs were immensely tight.

So I thought I really need to give my glutes and calves a bit of a rest. Of course hubby suggested it was because it was raining, but really, it was not that. Really. Honestly!

So I was thankful to read Oldfloss post about knowing when to rest and recover healthunlocked.com/strength...

I did rest … kind of … still went and finished a 50 min recovery row last evening. But rowing is so much easier on the body than running, I find. With rowing, weight works for you (momentum) rather than against you (gravity and impact).

So this morning it was also still raining, but the moment I stepped out the door, it stopped!

That made listening to my “rainy” playlist somewhat redundant, but I enjoyed it nevertheless! (But my cloudy playlist is so much better than my rainy one, so bring it on you wild gusty weather! )

Here my song playlists:

Rain - open.spotify.com/playlist/1...

Clouds - open.spotify.com/playlist/7...

Sun - open.spotify.com/playlist/5...

Happy running everyone!

P.s. I got back before my early-bird, runner-husband even woke! Now that’s an achievement!

I really, really need to use my foam roller. I have had it for well over a year and have used it properly ... once. My legs are ridiculously tight so there's really no excuse.

I did my first run of the week this morning though - in light rain, JUST before torrential rain.

Yeah, they can be great help.

This ( link healthunlocked.com/strength... ) used to be my favourite go to follow along session, but they pulled the video. But the video collage still gives you the 6 areas to roll through.

My other favourite session with my rollers is this one from the free FitOn App: healthunlocked.com/strength...

Enjoy!

It’s always nice when it stops raining when you leave the house! Was it still wet underfoot? It was like running up a river here today. What did your plan have you doing? It sounds like you had fun!

Yup, wet and a bit muddy. I initially had a picture of a wet path I was going to post , but it didn’t look as muddy as it felt. But here it is.

Today: 15 intervals of 90sec running, 30 sec walking.
