Okay, the picture doesn’t look so bad. But the weather was absolutely awful this morning. I prevaricated for a bit, as it was snowing outside, in a very wet and windy way. Hubby went out for a walk, just showing off!
I then decided to just put on my running clothes for my work-at-home day and commit to running on my lunchtime break. No matter the weather. Hmm.
Lunchtime came. OK, so it wasn’t snowing anymore. But after moaning and whimpering a bit, with hubby trying to chivvy me along, I stepped out the door … where a blustery ice cold wind threw a bucket full of rain drops into my face, and I escaped again inside.
A minute more of whimpering and whining, and then I just pulled up my big girl pants and headed out there.
So after 3 failed attempts, I finally completed today’s 30 minute run. I didn’t manage to warm up. It didn’t feel good.
But I got it done.
“Happy” running, everyone!!

Yes. I think the plan was the crucial element for giving me a nudge to head out.
And the knowledge that if I don’t today, than I’d run Fri and Sun, but Sunday I want to join a group row. So it takes a whole lot of different fitness communities to keep me on track! 🤣🤣🤣 At least in weather like today!
Well done! Big girl pants essential on days like this!I ran yesterday evening after work in pouring rain. - it wasn't pretty , Garmin added a year to my age and it was a clothes straight into the washing machine job -but , like you, I got the job done!
Well done CBDB. I confess I looked at the weekly forecast and planned the runs on the driest days. I still ended up in drizzle, but not those really wet and cold downpours. It can be exhilarating though, and you feel quite alive when it’s over! A bit like cold water swimming I guess.
Exhilarating like a wet cat, I felt more like. 🤣🤣🤣
Well, my schedule made get out there, as I planning to do a regular morning community row on Sunday during my usual running time. So now I cannot be completely free with the days I run anymore. And that day was a running day.
