Here I am in Prague on a city break to celebrate my birthday 🎂 🥳 a few days ago. Yes, I packed my running stuff, just in case. Having looked after poorly grandchildren last week, they kindly shared their germs with grandma, so over the weekend I was increasingly unwell myself, wondering if this break was a good idea at all. Anyway, we came, only for Mr Sax64 to be blighted now we're here! A couple of hours sightseeing and that was it, he cried off back to the hotel and to his bed. I really hope he's feeling better soon. Anyway, I decided to put on my run stuff and explore some more. Checking out the maps, I've a reasonable idea how to head off, and then I'm pounding the streets and it feels good. Didn't encounter any other runners, I didn't think I'd be the only one in such a big city. 4.5k done ✔️

Running in Prague
Fantastic, there's something so special about running in a different country isn't there?
Lovely to be converting a city to running!🤣
Hope you other half is up and well in good time to enjoy Prague.
🍏What a fun way to sightsee in a big city. Great photo! So sorry you both haven’t been well & Hope Mr is feeling better today! 😊
Always a plus to run while away. Hope MrS is better soon and Happy Birthday
Holiday runs are the best! It certainly sounds like you made the most of it. Get well soon to MrS!
He's been much better today, thanks. Been enjoying a good day's sightseeing and a late lunch. Mmmm....no running today
A big congratulations on your run! Happy birthday! Old Prague is a wonderful city!
Lucky you. Prague is beautiful.
I haven't run there, but would expect that the bridges would offer many options for different distances. The Park up by the Castle should offer some options too>
Enjoy
Walked up to the castle today, but running it! It's seriously uphill I don't think that will feature on my agenda. But yes, I used the bridges yesterday only to be sidetracked by one of the islands and an errand to Lidl of all places. 🏃♀️
Up beyond the castle is a Park. Has a mini Eiffel Tower (Petrin Tower). (Smaller, but still with plenty of steps). Also a Hall of Mirrors. Lots of paths. A Monks Brewery set into a Hill...
That all sounds lovely, thanks for your recommendations. But with an early flight home tomorrow, we may not get there now.
Oh great stuff! Lucky you. New routes around a beautiful city will be fab. Have a great time 😀🏃♀️
I love a holiday run but poor you and your husband not a great start , I hope he doesn’t stay in sick bay long. Nobody warns you about the germs the grandchildren bring !
Thanks, he's definitely on the tail end of the lurgy now, and yes the grandchildren are definitely very generous in sharing their bugs. But glad to report we did have a great time out in Prague, just that first day wasn't so good.
