7.5 muddy kilometres this morning, out on my local trails .β€οΈπŸ™‚ Having battled with a high hamstring injury since last summer, this was an important one.

I finished this run listening to β€˜Fighter’ by Christina Aguilera and β€˜Unstoppable” by Sia. Honestly, how could I fail! πŸ€·β€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ™‚

Yes, I β€˜m happy to be back out there but I also wanted to say to anyone stuck on the injury couch, keep the faith my friend because sometimes the road is long and frustrating but mostly we get there in the end! πŸ‘

I have worked hard to recover from this one and it has taken time and a gradual return using some of the early runs from Couch to 5K initially. I am still taking things nice and slowly but my confidence is growing and a few β€˜friendly’ hills are also proving that I’m not done with this running journey yet!

My patience has outwitted my desire to run a marathon ... for now at least. Our holiday has to take priority and there's always autumn! I think that counts as a win and doing ok, thank you for asking πŸ‘ 😍

Good 7.5K run for you today Sandraj39, I can see those muddy conditions on those photos, we are all needing a break from the rain, I like that bottom right photo, it looks like a great place to walk, run or bike ride, good music choice too, I am glad that your confidence is growing, onwards and upwards πŸƒπŸΎ πŸ‘.

So glad that things are turning around again for you Sandraj39 . A few sunny days has made getting outside all the more inviting , and 7.5km is brilliant. Keep up the good work. Being on the IC is not good but it looks like you can start looking ahead again.

I haven’t run since October 19th so I know how you feel. Good luck with the rest of your runs, and hopefully races too, before too long.

I had a high hamstring injury a couple of years ago and it was no fun. I can sympathise. Good that you are recovering.

I had a fair few occasions where I thought I was never going to get better…but I was patient and did everything the physio asked meβ€¦πŸ˜‡

This is such a brilliant post to read. Injuries are miserable but they can make us so much stronger. So pleased that you’re back in a good place. Long may that continue!! ❀️❀️❀️

Outstanding - really well done! It's not easy, is it? I was ill for so long, then injured. C25K got me out of that ... and then I got injured again. That was tough. But being back out and running again ... now that it's been a few months I am almost taking it for granted, so your lovely post made me realise how far (literally!) I have come.

Happy running.

Well done Sandra, glad you are back and very good advice too. I can totally relate to all of this; since July last year I have had a swollen knee, a sprained ankle and hip bursitis! πŸ˜• Yesterday I ran my first 5k since the summer last year, hopefully onward and upward from now on πŸ€žπŸ™‚
