My plan was for a short recovery run this morning, I woke to find I'd slept a solid 9 hours, must have caught up a bit. While sitting with a cup of tea I decided that I'd probably benefit from a day off running, I wish my brain would talk to my hands though because while I was thinking this, my hands were pulling on shorts and getting socks out the drawer. Then they scrolled through the shorter NRC runs and settled on third run which I've never done.
When I walked out the door the sun was shining and as I walked down the road I felt it on my face and smiled. It has been wet and windy lately.
I ease into a run, keep it really slow, smile as I pass people, a lady with a cockapoo stops and tucks herself and her dog into the hedge, I drop to a walk, give them some space, smile and say thank you, my greeting is returned.
Coach B babbles on, my Best of British playlist plays, I run on gently and quietly.
Up and over the bridge, no train rushing under.
Shall I go to the sea? No! Not this morning, so run gently alongside the lake turn and head home.
That was fun, my body feels lovely and relaxed, my mind is quiet my smile wide.
Indoors, glass of water, make juice and a cup of tea, stretch and sit.
Run happy or rest well.
