Finally back after six weeks off . . .

It’s exactly six weeks to the day that I was running along the canal towpath and moved over slightly for a cyclist coming in the opposite direction. The result was my foot slipped off the edge of the slightly raised path and I sprained my ankle. 2.42km maybe doesn’t seem much to get excited about but this was my first successful pain free test run today. Needless to say I’m a happy bunny and am looking forward to getting back out again in a day or so and slowly building up my distance again.

Being injured and coming back is tough-I know that feeling well! It sounds like you’ve been really sensible in taking it slowly. That will most certainly have helped you get back today.

Really good luck for building that distance.

Well done. Coming back from injury is tough. Slow but sure wins the day. Don't rush it. Enjoy and celebrate the victories.

I am just one run ahead of you in my comeback from a four week lay off. I am being similarly cautious. 3k on Sunday, 4K on Tuesday, maybe 5k today if my legs feel up to it….all at my slow “easy” pace. No point in pushing it and sliding back down the IC snake. Hope it goes well for you 👍

I totally agree, I've had a couple of false starts and it was still painful so I stopped, but yesterday was OK. Next run scheduled for tomorrow, not too far though, easy does it I think 😁
