So hard getting back into it!

Back in Cornwall after a highly calorific stay in France. I must have stopped in Clermont Ferrand and fitted a new Michelin spare tyre.

I did run twice a week 3 to 5 km so it could have been worse, but I’m feeling the lack of swimming and rowing machine sessions.

Does getting back in the saddle get more difficult the older we get? Yesterday I did my Sunday 9km hard hilly run and it took me 5 minutes longer than usual.

I’ll take a look. All I was doing was 30 minutes at 25 strokes pm having watched YouTube on technique. Boredom was my greatest difficulty until listening to podcasts!

the Rowalong channel on YouTube was a game changer for me and my rowing. Have a look, as it helps experiencing different types of workouts. There is a whole series of 30x30 minutes which might fit.

you can’t go to France and not enjoy the food and drink on offer HeavyFoot . Now you can enjoy getting back to where you were before your hols, even if it’s a bit slower.

Oh France.... ! I started all this running back in 2015 after a seven week French holiday.... hedonistic pleasure and excellent food!

I think it may feel harder to get back on track....but always worth it when we do?

Strange. Just back from a highly calorific visit to Cornwall! Running schedule out the window. Swimming to make up. Hoping for a return to normality, ordinary food, less drink...

Being slightly rounder than usual is no excuse not to run. Look at Bibendum, he always seems to be running somewhere, and he always has a lovely big smile on his face. ;) What's more he is 125 years old !
