(Slow) run in new surroundings

This weekend a family reunion gave me and hubby the opportunity to run through a village we didn’t know.

Thanks to the Footpath app I had searched out a quick, out & back 30 min morning recovery run.

We found a lovely route through the village and out through the fields, although it was concreted almost the whole way. But it made for a relaxing quick out and back run, before heading back to family for breakfast.

I have to admit, I enjoy more having familiar surroundings but it was nice to explore something new.

I get the uncertainty with the familiar, but my familiar is either out the door and around the town or the same easy route after school drop off; the latter is in a country park, but it's the same every time.

So great to be somewhere new; and terrific use of an app I'd not heard of - and must check out!

Happy running!

yeah it’s a good one. When training up to 10k I paid subscription during that time as otherwise I was only able to save 5 routes. But it saves your routes through periods where you halt your subscription. Additional perk if you subscribe : you have access to OS maps at a price cheaper than the OS app (or the real maps).
