Ran for an hour

But I have no idea of distance run :D

I have been struggling a bit with fitting running in around life in general for the past couple of weeks, my 3 runs a week dropping to 2 and threatening to drop to one.

Wednesday I was on the treadmill and 3 minutes into my run, my youngest comes downstairs to the basement while I was running and starts talking about his exam today etc. He had, of course, been home all day with not a peep out of him....anyway, because of his interruption I lost my rhythm totally and stopped.

Once the children had gone to bed and the dogs were walked I decided there was no way i wasn't getting a run in and I did yet another figure 8 run around the kitchen island and dining room table for an hour, I put a virtual run on the TV and just gently jogged for an hour. No idea of pace or distance covered but it felt like I got my 5K run, so I'm happy with that. Barefoot again, and, like last time I ran barefoot indoors, much less calf ache.

If anyone is looking for a virtual run, Lake Wanaka in NZ is a nice one, it lasts 39 mins - I watched it 1.5 times

This is such dedication! When I was trying to rebuild my strength a while back I used to walk around the house a lot, but I really don't think I could run for that amount of time indoors. It's amazing!

I'd quite like a safe way of doing the virtual run whilst running locally around the boring streets! But I don't think a VR headset would work with oncoming traffic ...

tbh, it seems to me like the easy option, stick the tv on, don't bother with shoes or any running kit, just jog around the house for an hour, requires no planning, can be done at a moment's notice.....it does reinforce the fact that I prefer running on something other than the treadmill though - as soon as the pollen count drops, I'm heading outside again :D

love this!! That shows real intention and such dedication…you had really made your mind up hadn’t you!?!? When I was doing RED January a couple of years ago if I couldn’t get out because of lack of time I would run around the bedrooms and landing with the occasional up and down the stairs until I got at least 1k run in…the kids thought I’d lost it 🤣🤣

my dogs were on the sofa following me with their eyes every time I ran past them :D I can only imagine what they were thinking! I think I saw one roll his eyes at me !
