I had the dressings removed and stitches out, so now it’s all about physio to get my hand functioning well again. Right, time to get out for a run, I thought.
I didn’t manage a super early start but I was out by 7.30am and that’s early for me. The shade and breeze were lovely and that helped a lot for quite a bit of my route.
I hadn’t run for 3.5 weeks and it was hot so I limited myself to a 5 min brisk walk, then a 25 min run and a 5 min walk at the end.
That’s enough to get my started again, so I’m happy with that.

Nice run and short walk for you today Oldlady64, I am glad that your hand is fine now, even as early as 7.30 the weather as you say is getting warm, I ran a 10K this morning starting at that same time, I should have started about 30 minutes earlier as I had to slow down a little within the last 2 kilometers as it was getting a bit too hot to run at the same pace as the first 7 kilometers.
Thanks Floss, it was just within the last 2 kilometers that I started to feel the heat, otherwise it was a good run, cloudy with a temperature of 14C at the start but by 8K not a cloud in the sky with the temperature rising to nearly 20C by the end of the run, see what I mean if I had began the run 30 minutes earlier, the sun would have come out just after I had finished, I had plenty of liquid with me so I never felt dehydrated.
It was, over the next two weeks my plan for running is just a short 3K maintenance run on Saturday as I won't be at parkrun this Saturday, next Monday is my 5th anniversary on graduating from C25K so I am going to run, run 3 of week 9 at the very same place where I ran that run 5 years ago, that run was along the prom at Helensburgh on the west coast of Scotland, that certainly will bring memories back to me.
