First 5k run since last year.

Today did my first 5k run since October last year. I had to stop running in October due to an unexpected strain on the leg, unconnected with sport, and since then I gradually built up running again. Tried to keep in the aerobic regime where this is monitored with my Garmin Forerunner 45 so it was a really slow run. I am trying to build up aerobic stamina rather than beating Usain Bolt.

Great news! That first 5k after a break is special isn't it?

Slow is the way to go!🐌

Well done on your 5K…it’s great to reach that distance again isn’t it 👏🏼👍🏼

Are you following a programme like NRC or Magic Plan…or doing your own thing?

I’ve just built up to 10k for the 2nd time…are you looking to increase to 10k, or happy to stay around a 5k distance…

Embrace your inner snail and enjoy! 🐌🏃🏽😊

Thanks for your comment. I use the Decathlon phone application for running which I have now used for a year. I am just really happy to have again reached 5k which is the longest distance I have run. I do not know about progressing to 10km .
