I managed to do my second 8km today! Very pleased that the first wasn’t a total fluke 😂
It wasn’t fast but considering I went out telling myself I was just doing a 5k I am pleased with it.
I did get some really bad stitches at about 6/7k… I slowed down and tried to breathe into them and I managed to run through them. Maybe it was just the relief of the pain being gone but after that I actually felt like I had more energy and could have run further… not a common feeling for me!
I made myself stop at 8 as I didn’t want to push myself too hard and do a mischief.
Any other tips for avoiding stitches? I ate a load of sweets this morning so not sure that helped! 🤦🏽♀️

Nice second 8K for you ReyC, to avoid stitches drink plenty of water even in the days you don't run, start your runs a little slower than you have been recently, by doing that hopefully you will avoid further stitches. 😊 🏃🏾
Great run and well done for seeing off those stitches. Do you regularly get stitches or is this a rare thing? I’ve found eating too much too close to a run, or the wrong thing, or not eating enough (!!) is when I get them worst. Or sometimes if I’ve pushed a bit hard a bit early in the run. Nutrition is such a personal thing that it’s hard to say what will work for you. I’ve found noting in my run book what’s worked and what hasn’t has given me lots of useful information to help guide me. That might be worth trying too. When you get them, slowing down or walking is the right tactic.
