I’m a solitary and quite unsociable runner so wasn’t sure if I’d like it. But it was great. So for anyone who may be thinking it’s not for them because they sound like me, I’d say give it a go. I ran way faster than I usually do and it was a nice change to my solo routes.

Well done on joining the running club. I have to confess I've been googling our local clubs and wondering whether there is space for a slow 70 year old. I think one of the clubs will accept me but some do have performance targets which I can't meet. It would be quite nice to run in company.
I'm sure they'll be a welcoming club Chinkoflight. I can understand the elites but there are plenty of friendly faces that look at the wider picture. Godd luck in your search 😊
Well done ReyC, same with me, I tend to run faster at parkrun than when I run my midweek run on a Wednesday, my average time at parkrun is 32:30, my average Wednesday run is nearer 35:30, if you wish to run a lot at parkrun you can report your runs here on Bridge 210K on Damienair's weekly parkrun forum
Well done and congratulations on doing your first parkrun. I remember being very nervous doing my first one. I’d been living in the town where I live for about 15 years and only new a very small circle of friends. 4-5 years later I have met so many lovely people through parkrun that I can’t walk down a street without bumping into someone I know from parkrun. It’s a lovely community and a lovely healthy way to kick off the weekend.
