Thinking about today's run and wondering what to do. At the moment my head is so full of plans for when I've got more time I'm impatient to get started, but May is a way away yet. So I sat with my tea reading posts smiling to see how much enjoyment my vrb's are getting when out and about, I was looking forward as we got ready.

I chose NRC first long run, because I've never done it before, because I wanted to run longer than 20 minutes and it's 35.

The river is very low, mist is burning off the hills, the sun is shining and the bridge was busy, once we'd walked across we kissed goodbye and off I went, coach talking about endurance, the plan was to run 20 minutes and turn back, but as I was told it was half way and time to turn back I just knew if I turned round I'd walk a bit so I kept going,

The wondrous sights I saw kept my eyes darting around, wrens flitting in the hedgerows then a female robin, round and brown, no red breast but so cute and so close, some blackbirds and a pigeon or two.

35 minutes run, turn, stop the watch, start a walk and into the sun.

The further from the bridge I'd gone the less people, it's so peaceful and still, through th hedges, hills to the left, the river to the right, warm sun and a happy heart.

Happy Valentines day to everyone

What a lovely post. I too read comments from vrb before I go out for a run and it really helps and motivates me!

I love your descriptions of nature along the way. So pleased to hear that you are thinking of plans from May onwards too 😁😎.

I have so many plans, swimming, my daughter pointed out that if I have one day off it's too much effort to get ready, drive to the pool, swim, drive home, it takes half the day when there's a run, washing shopping etc, but when every day is a day off ooo

I know that gate 😁

It was a great day for a run. I’m still on the IC though, so just stuck to walking the dogs.

I didn't see you walking past that gate with dogs... Or did I? 😀 It's such a lovely place to run and perfect for longer runs

No, I wasn’t sure how misty it would still be 😃so we stayed on the hill this morning.

Such a lovely run for you. That’s one of the NRC ones I haven’t done yet-will put in on the list. It must be a tricky, weird, in betweeny time for you at the moment with retirement soon but not yet. Hopefully the runs will help with the swirling plans in your head. I definitely do my best thinking on the move!

I do my best not thinks Ng on a run, what with the sights and the music and coach talking, if I run without ear buds I still clear my mind, it's a wonderful world.

It is a bit weird, but I've got some leave in march and that will help.

It did turn into a lovely day…

Retirement is such a wonderful feeling…no more having to request special days off…you can do what you want, when you want ☺️💖

What a wonderful run you had. Time to dig in and absorb your surroundings. You seem to have so many beautiful places to run!

I do think we are lucky to live here, the sea a mile south, the downs a mile north, the river about 3 miles east, the next towns pier 3 miles west, mind you a 2k run or walk round the industrial estate just down the road isn't so pretty, but handy for evening dog walks as quiet.
