I've been planning today's run for a couple of weeks, I haven't run yet this year because that lurgy I caught the day after Boxing Day has left us both with very little energy Firstly it's frosty out there and I really don't want to skid over, then our area is gridlocked due to ice, for goodness sake, the second frost of the winter and no one's going anywhere, thirdly, I've been waiting for my MRI to be cancelled due to nurses strike but phoned and no such luck.
Then I thought if I set off now I could Jeff it, only 25 miles, ๐๐๐๐๐
Then I saw this picture on Facebook and decided I'd better not, Willow might be very upset,
Hope you all have a great day and get a run

Your time will come again SueAppleRun It's always prudent to run safely to avoid injury. I like the saying 'All that was there will be there still' and it will be when the time comes ๐ Best wishes on the scan ๐
Sorry to read this, it's a difficult time of year, so many different things can get it the way of our simple pleasure of running.I hope you are both fully recovered and that you get out soon, but only when it's safe โบ๏ธ
Haha! I was on a roll, but haven't run gor quite a few days because of life stuff and feeling a bit under the weather. Let's get out there soon. There's no harm in having another rest day after that horrible virus you had.
It is freezing up here too! Mrs BC has been out with the ladies wot lunch, and said that our bit of town was the only area for miles around with ice and snow still visible! I am feeling victimised. I did get out on Monday for a nice interval run, and knowing that snow was on the way, I sneaked in my long run last Saturday. Tomorrow is meant to be a recovery run and I have hatched a cunning plan! Yesterday I, or rather our dog Molly, found a stretch of old railway line which was pretty safe underfoot. If I drive to the starting point ( thus avoiding an icy stretch) I should be able to fit in a 6 k out and back bimble, return to the car for warm clothing and then drop into the cafe for a restorative cuppa. As Black Adder would say, you could put whiskers on it and call it a weasel๐ฟ๏ธ (I know itโs a squirrel โฆ.nearest I could find!).
Youโll get there Sola! Life just throws stuff at us doesnโt it, like waiting for buses really. Iโm assuming you didnโt Jeff to the scan - I hope it was all ok ๐.
Hope that you are both fit and well soon. Iโm in a similar position, Iโm only 8-9 days post covid and worrying about long covid (although I have no symptoms so far and am feeling ok!).
I loved the photo, it made me laugh a lot and that is worth a great deal right now.
Oh my goodness...we are all stuck in this cycle of illness left overs and weather constraints. I am sorry that your run never happened.
You know from my ode that I empathise with you enormously! But.. on the positive side.??? I will have more snowy photographs for you, as I have just opened the curtains on another snowy day.. not forecast!
Thank goodness we have friends here who can run and keep us inspired by their adventures... Our time will come... we just have to keep on being patient, and as you are doing, sensibly stay inside, and stay safe .
Just had cancellation of club run tonight because of ice, gutted now. "You could just go out for a run by yourself" I hear you saying, yes I agree but I'm the one who'll now fall over because I've been told not to do a run because it's dangerous, that's my luck. Well parkrun Saturday fingers crossed ๐ค
Hope your MRI goes or has gone ok Sola and also you will get back out there Iโm sure. Running will stil be there tomorrow, and the next day ,and the next!๐๐.
