I’m taking part in my first REDJanuary. I’ve chosen to continue my usual three runs a week, and continue my habit of work-time lunchtime walks, and have added in an intention of practicing a little bit of yoga every day.
1st
3.24 miles of walking (on holiday in the Forest of Dean)
6 minutes of yoga
2nd
3.28 miles of walking (on the way back from holiday: one walk in the Forest of Dean, one around Lacock, Wiltshire)
6 minutes of yoga
3rd
3.59 miles of walking (warm up and cool down to go with run, walk around town)
3.2 miles of running (lunchtime intervals)
8 minutes of yoga
4th
3.08 miles of walking (lunchtime)
10 - 15 minutes of strength training following womensrunning.co.uk/trainin...
10 minutes of yoga
5th
2.07 miles of walking (warm up and cool down to go with run, post work end of working week walk)
3.59 miles of running (lunchtime cardio)
6 minutes of yoga
6th
5.34 miles of walking (walk to see and with a friend)
10 minutes of yoga
7th
0.4 miles of walking (warm up and cool down to go with run)
5.8 miles of running (lunchtime long)
8 minutes of yoga
All yoga has been done using the DownDog app - downdogapp.com/ - on intermediate level in restorative mode focussed on hip flexors
I’m happy with that as my first week. The shortest yoga practice that the app will let me do is 4 minutes - which is hard to not find time for! I’ve managed to do longer than that every day so far. I do it just before bedtime so doing longer practices at that time of day doesn’t really work for me.
