It's usually Damienair who posts about your parkrun on a Saturday, as at 2.30pm he hasn't, perhaps he is very busy with Christmas, as I do host it when Damien is off I am hosting it this weekend, if he does post it ignore this one and reply to Damien. otherwise tell me how your Christmas Eve parkrun went.

How did your Christmas Eve parkrun go?
Thanks so much for stepping up Al! I always feel like you’re an unofficial parkrun ambassador and it’s great you’ve put up this post.
I’m not back at parkrun yet-I did have a run yesterday after my tumble and it felt great. It’s going to be my New Year’s resolution to do one each month. There were some lovely festive pictures from people in my running group today. It seems most were in fancy dress!
Thanks MissUnderstanding, I always standin for Damienair's parkrun forum when he doesn't host it.Although you didn't run at parkrun you got out a short run yesterday after your tumble, glad you enjoyed that run, that is great news, your New Year's resolution to run at least one parkrun a month in 2023, a lot of runner's at the parkrun I ran were also in fancy dress, mostly Santa Dash outfits, let me wish you and your family a very Happy Christmas 🤶 🎄
I enjoyed my Christmas Eve parkrun at Palacerigg parkrun, I wore a red Santa hat and my reindeer jumper, many of the runners wore Christmas jumpers and antler hats, photos were taken and should appear on the Palacerigg parkrun facebook page later*, after the run the run director gave me a free bauble to decorate my Christmas tree at home, also all the runners were treated to Christmas tunes, Mince Pies and sweets, I wish you all a very Merry Christmas.
*They are now there, there is a group photo, I am 6th from the left in that photograph, there are also many more photos which I am on as well.
Well done Alan on your parkrun, nice to be festive with running buddies. Have a Very Happy Christmas.
A fine festive jumper you have on in the photos Al!
At the very end of the run the lady who scanned my time was Jennifer Wetton, she is one of the fastest women runners in Scotland, she came second yesterday in a time of 19.31, that's slow for her, probably due to the muddy conditions, her average time is around 17/18 minutes, last year she was first at 4 different parkruns.
No parkrun for me today Al as I was driving to stay with family for Christmas. But I wish you and all HUers a lovely Christmas!
Thanks AlMorr for hosting, glad you got your PR on in.
A big turn out (circa 250) for the Sixfields PR today. Lots of Santa's helpers hoofing it around and lots of PB's today. A surprisingly chilly start as the night ended with clear colder air, the watery sun is so low on the horizon.
But although a little slippy under foot following a lot of rain this week, the Nene was high, and pools in the flood defences had formed, it was fast under foot. I managed a better time, for me, run times are relative of course so happy days.
Merry Xmas everyone.
That's a big turnout Chinkoflight, 250 at Sixfields PR, only 71 at the parkrun I was at, it was a bit chilly for you at first but I am sure that you would warm up during the run, of course after the rain there would be a lot of puddles, happy days and runs for you, Merry Christmas 🎄🤶
Hello Al,
Thank you so much for doing this. I am so sorry I forgot all about parkrun this morning as we were invited to a neighbours house for breakfast. A nice little Christmas Eve get together. So no parkrun for me today. But I'll be out and about at parkrun next weekend. I have a goal to do over 40 parkruns in 2023 and get my Silver Obsessive Badge. I also aim to Volunteer too. Wishing you a very Happy Christmas Alan. And wishing everyone on Bridge to 10K a very Happy Christmas too. I need to cross that 10K Bridge again in the New Year.
Cheers,
Damien
That's OK Damien, usually by at the latest 2pm if you havn't hosted the parkrun forum I ask Instructor57, Ian if I should do it, he gave me the go ahead at around 2.30 pm. Good luck for your 40 or more parkruns in 2023, and your Silver Obsessive Badge, may I wish you and your family a very Happy Christmas 🤶 🎄
I think it’s going to be a busy bridge next year Damien, I’ll definitely be out there in it with you! Have a lovely Christmas!
I'm on for 50 this year for the gold obsessive. Work weren't happy about me not being able to do Saturday mornings but I worked out I could do a few and still make it so that calmed them down a bit.
Merry Christmas Parkrunners! I went to my local PR at Lowestoft today. It was a special one because my 13 year old son said last night he’d join me for the first time! 🥰 I wore my Xmas top and had tinsel in my hair. It was the biggest crowd of the year with 459 participants. The volunteers were on fine form. One was even treating us to some Christmas karaoke at the top the steep hill! I was very proud of my son. He did it all with a smile and good humour, despite finding the second half tough. I’m hoping I’ll get him back there again soon! Have a wonderful Christmas everyone 🎁🎉🎅🏻🎄
Merry Christmas to you Newbierunner84, that is lovely that you ran for the first time with your 13 year old son at Lowestoft parkrun today,, wow, 459 participants, that's a lot, most would be wearing Xmas tops and tinsel as well as you. I hope you enjoyed your run and the music from the Christmas karaoke, where I was running this morning there was also Christmas music playing, but not karaoke, you should be very proud of your son, he ran very well despite the second half being tough, once again have a wonderful Christmas, it's already started very well indeed for you 🎄😊🤶🌲
Great parkrun but not a fan of big puddles still. Antlers only for me which did not slow me down unduly - I can do that unaided.
No parkrun for me Al, but I did walk part of my local parkrun route through the woods this afternoon with Mr B. It was very muddy.
Well done on your parkrun this morning and a very happy Christmas to you and everyone dear to you
Hi AlMorr and fellow runners, it was a huge turnout (312) this morning and most wore festive hats or T-shirts which was brilliant. I was feeling a bit chesty after a cough I’ve had for a couple of weeks but felt so much better getting out in the fresh air. It was a nice plod today - no sprint finish for me 😊🎄🧑🎄
Great photo Dendev75, 312 turned up for your Christmas Eve parkrun today, that's a lot, most wore festive hats etc, I hope that chesty cough clears up soon, I wish you a very happy Christmas 🤶 🎄.
Busy day today (surprise, surprise!) so today's report is the edited highlights.....
Portsmouth Lakeside parkrun ✔️
Muddy puddles ✔️
Assorted Santas, elves, a reindeer, a Christmas tree and even a turkey!✔️
Another sub-30 (29.56) and top half of the field (130 of 278)😀✔️
And a peaceful Christmas to one and all!
It didn't! I overslept. I had the possibility of running at Hafan Pwllheli, but when I noticed the clock getting there in time was an impossibility.
I did a 5km loop starting from where we're staying instead.
At least you got a run nowster, well done, have a wonderful Christmas 🤶 🎄
Hi I park runned in Utrecht NLwhich was of course flat around a fast course but as I have missed a few PRs in December I came in at 38 mins. It was about 10 degrees whereas last weeks was cancelled due to ice. The intro was in English and a few other UK runners there.
Somehow I got a bronze obsessive badge.
It was worth getting up v early for as it is a trek from central Utrecht!
I had planned on it but having a disturbed night's sleep with a headache then waking up with it very prominent I decided to rest instead. S-i-L has Covid so was worrying that I may be infected too. Hopefully I'll be ok for our local Boxing Day run.Well done all of you who got out for it, lots of Christmas spirit there, Santa and Elf obviously had no problem keeping the sleigh airborne. Guess which feel we all saw for Christmas 😂 🎄🤶🎅🍻
I don't do parkrn but I did go for a quick 5km run .Really just replying to say have a wonderful Christmas!
Well done to you Week7 on running that quick 5K run, wishing you a wonderful Christmas 🤶 🎄
Big turnout for us at Wycombe Rye too (495) and lots of festive attire. A mix of frosted grass and mud so kept steady for 34:12 and wrote the run report. My next volunteer is my 25th so I'm excited!
Fabulous turn out for my local Parkrun yesterday. Plenty of elves, reindeer & santas turned out and even a turkey. Great community run followed by coffee and cake at the local hospice cafe afterwards.
Wishing everyone a great Christmas, celebrating as you choose. My Christmas Day is tomorrow as hubby’s on-call today so a run for me and a few mulled wines later on.
Enjoy folks and my good wishes for a healthy 2023 🤶
Parkrun #36 for me and a bit of parkrun tourism for me. I was deterred from going to my home parkrun because of an announcement by the organisers that it was a bit wet in places. However, it didn't put off Santa who was pushing a buggy. You can see what it was like for him here:
Go to 8:34. Did I make the right decision?
I gave myself an easy marshalling job so I wouldn’t be too tired for my late night church commitments but that plan failed. The marshalling was straightforward but on return to the finish I discovered there had been multiple problems at the finish. We’re not used to that at West Links: we’re pretty thorough at the funnel so our results are normally done in a few minutes and spot on. Not this time: on the phone to the RD till 1.30 pm to get a half decent set of results between us. Not the RD’s fault, she was as thorough as ever and proactive at real-time damage limitation but so many different things happened at once that it still took forever to work it all out. Lots of Strava stalking involved, we’ve never had to do that before. First time it’s taken anything like that long in 48 events. Would have to happen on Christmas Eve!
Such a pity that happened on the Christmas Eve parkrun at West Links Arbroath, I do hope everything was eventually fixed, of the 4 parkruns I attend only Drumpellier had a Christmas Day parkrun, I hope the rest of your Christmas goes well.
Parkrun number 71,Yesterday I was at fletcher moss parkrun in didsbury. This means that I have now ran at 25 different parkrun locations. It was also the 49th parkrun I've done this year so just need to do next Saturday to have done 50 in a year.
Decided I'm not doing a Christmas day event although there are a few going ahead around manchester. I just had a nice plod up our nearest hill so that'll do for me.
I'm also very close to the goal I set up in January which was to run 2000 miles this year. Only 5k left to go which I intend to do at our local running group social next Tuesday.
Have a lovely Christmas day today everyone!
Congratulations to you Hargo on completing 71 parkruns and running at 25 different locations, you will just manage to run No. 50 this year on 31st December, a big congratulations on running 2000 miles this year, that's a lot of running, I wish you a happy Christmas 🤶 🎄
Barcode scanning for me yesterday. Plus First Timer Briefing because the person scheduled to do it was unwell.
Well done on your barcode scanning and First Timers Briefing yesterday at parkrun RunaroundSue, yesterday at parkrun the lady that scanned my barcode was one of the fastest women runners in Scotland, last year she came first in 4 different parkruns, she averages 17/18 minute 5k runs at parkrun, it was a honor meeting her.
Well done for hosting Al, I’m sure damienair did the right thing and concentrated on his family instead of us. It’s such a busy time.
Well, we had a bit of a surprise on Friday night as UpTheStanley tested positive for Covid. So on Saturday morning I was chatting to my sister and niece and cancelling their visit to us. We were stocked to feed 6 over 3 days and they had to go out shopping pretty swiftly.
Southsea is doing a double for Christmas and New Year, so having confirmed I was still negative, I headed for parkrun on Christmas Day, dressed in reindeer top and antlers. I was playing Christmas songs on my phone and carried my jingle bells. It was a joyful run, with many runners in fancy dress, and lots of families walking.
Not a brilliant run time but that wasn’t the intention. Besides, me and my fellow reindeer had had a very busy night , not to mention the food and wine consumed
Sorry about UpTheStanley testing positive for Covid, I hope its mild and he recovers quickly, a pity regarding your sister and niece having to cancel their Christmas visit to you.So Southsea are having 2 parkruns at Christmas and New Year, I am sure you looked so festive at parkrun on Christmas Day with music and jingle bells, the parkrun I was at had that as well but on Christmas Eve, not Christmas Day, however, the other parkrun I attend, but not on Christmas Day had a record attendance on Sunday. Lol, don't worry about time after the food and wine you and your friends consumed, once again I hope UpTheStanley recovers soon for a New Year's run this weekend.
Hiya Al! Apologies for the extremely late reply but I’ve been living up to my HU tag even more than usual these last few days!
Christmas Eve run, well it had to be done, Katnap and I dressed up (see below). It was a bit of a slog as my legs were feeling the 24 days of 5ks I’d put in but we did it, much lower down than usual as we had 426 runners (a post Covid record) but still a respectable 31 mins.
Oh yes, I also got my v100 with some pre setup volunteering.
Post run lunch was a bit of a Christmas treat, smoke salmon sandwiches 😋
Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Looking forward to all those running gift pictures now I’ve got some time back 😍
Happy Christmas running all 💪💪💪
Lovely photo of you TailChaser, no need to apologise you have been very busy, congratulations on running 24 days of 5Ks, that is a wonderful achievement, also well done on volunteering 100 times, this time pre set up, enjoy the rest of this year, only 6 days left.
