Hello Everyone and Happy Christmas. Today is Christmas Day and also parkrun day, a free 5K event which takes place every Saturday morning all around the world. It is for everyone, slow, fast, able, disabled, big, small and everyone in between. Oh and don't forget about the super Mum's and Dad's who push their babies in buggies. You can walk, jog, run, run/walk, it's not a race, just a run in the park and loads of us here on Bridge to 10K do it religiously every Saturday morning.

parkrun is back thankfully in most Countries around the World. I am hoping for any Countries still struggling with COVID-19 that it returns to you soon.

Some of us may not be able to do a parkrun at the moment so until parkrun returns fully for everyone some of us will continue to take part on our own in a Virtual parkrun every Saturday morning called a (not)parkrun. Or if you are away on Holidays, prefer to run on your own, or do not have a parkrun close by you a (not)parkrun is perfect, please feel free to join in.

Please post a little run report after your parkrun or (not)parkrun and let everyone know how you got on. The little run report can be done over a post parkrun coffee and treat/cake. (parkrun is all about the after run coffee and cake, and meeting friends old and new).

If you are a new graduate and would like to start, all you have to do is run, walk or jog at a parkrun or a 5K run/jog/walk (not)parkrun anytime today or tomorrow and write a little run report under this post. It's like a little community and it is good fun, sets you up nicely for the weekend. If you want to you can register on the parkrun website and you can log your 5K (not)parkrun. In fact you can log any 5K done during the week as a (not)parkrun.

For anyone whom has not done a real parkrun yet and if it is available to you, give it a try. It is the most wonderful community event. Saturday mornings will never be the same again.

Looking forward to hearing from all of you who ran in real proper parkruns and (not)parkruns. Happy Christmas and happy running and have a lovely time with your family and friends.

Santa arrived early this morning. It was a very wet and windy morning here. A day for the ducks. But a loyal bunch of people gathered this morning and ran at parkrun. It was so lovely to see everyone and wish them all a happy Christmas. I took it very easy today, I just jogged easy and ran my 84th parkrun in a time of 35:23. Home now and showered and just about to have breakfast. Happy Christmas everyone.

Hi damienair and Merry Christmas πŸŽ… πŸŽ„ to you and your family. I decided to do a quick 5k on my own (only my 6th 5k this year as I don't really run this distance). I enjoyed it though. Time was 24.08. Best Wishes to all!

Hello damienair & all. Our flat seafront one were having a well deserved break so onto another location and one which I did my very first parkrun at 2 years ago Christmas Day.

Very busy, 314 runners with the majority wearing festive gear.

A nice steady run for me and pleased with my time of 35:00.

Thank you for your Parkrun posts this year and wishing you & your family a very Happy Christmas πŸŽ…πŸ»πŸŽ„and all fellow runners a very Happy Christmas.

Never done a parkrun, must try one sometime when I can escape running kids/wife around. Nipped out for a very slow 5k this morning before the kids where up,. Very windy though. This was my first run since Tuesdays silliness - covid jab in the middle of a 21k run (ok I did the extra 100m) - everything hurt, I’ve been shattered since the jab and am still not fully recovered from the run either.

However it was still a run and a quiet one at that, only saw one vehicle a milk tanker which would have been visiting the local farms.

Well done on your run and Happy Christmas. Yes when you have a chance try a parkrun. I know that the time does not suit everyone, especially with a family. It is a lovely way to meet people, make new friends and run with others. It's a lovely community event, all people, young and old, abled and disabled. I'm sure you would like it.

Visiting my parents in coastal NW Wales, where sometimes the Wicklow Hills are visible on the horizon. No local parkrun. I got out at 9am and did a 5km circuit in the blustery wind.

Just one local farmer on a quad bike to wave to this morning.

Time 27’30” for this (not) parkrun.

Well done on your run and great finish time. My Sister lives up in the Wicklow hills in a beautiful village called Roundwood. Happy Christmas.

Finally found my tribe in a local running group and cannot believe the difference it has made. Myself and my eldest son who has struggled with his mental health for the past 9 years turned out for Colchester Park Run this morning and had the best time! We both run together 3 times a week - 8 weeks running now with no excuses - I now understand when people say Running has changed my life! It's the best medicine! Christmas wishes to all of you xxx

Good turnout of almost 400 at Southsea this morning. We were graced with the presence of our course record holder, who turns up approximately once a year and finishes first. He didn’t break his record this year. Our local trouble maker was hanging out of her window videoing the run go past, I presume she will try to complain that we are breaking some made up regulation or other. Still walking with trekking poles as I continue to make my way back from my hip replacement. I keep knocking a minute off my time, did it again today, at this rate I won’t need to return to running it once I have my technique right. Merry Christmas to all.

Good morning Damien and a belated Happy Christmas to you and your family, for some reason or another I didn't get any posts on Christmas Day from Healthunlocked, perhaps there was a fault with the email, so it's Sunday morning that I am posting this to you, Happy St Stephens Day, Boxing Day in England.

I didn't run on Saturday morning, same next weekend as well, on Wednesday I ran my 80th (not) parkrun in a time of 34.16 which is the exact same time as my first official parkrun in July 2019, I intend to run my 81st (not) parkrun this coming Monday, have a great St Stephens Day, the weather forecast for where I live for Sunday says it may snow.

Park Run - Ealing

Morning all, a very good turnout at the Ealing park run on Christmas day over 300 - light rain but good spirit - truthfully I was struggling with a mild hangover but got around in just on 30mins which I was very happy with. Merry Christmas and Happy New year all all members, Colin.

Made it out for a Christmas morning 5k before the rest of the family emerged for present opening. I guess you could call that a not ParkRun.

Forecast had been for rain by the bucketload so I was pleasantly surprised to return home without being rained on. Didn't have time to get to any of the local ParkRuns so I just ran near home.

Encountered mostly dog walkers and appreciated the lack of traffic.

Festive greetings folks and happy running!

Happy Christmas everyone, I hope you're all enjoying this time of year. Sligo Parkrun was cancelled as the race director had covid related problems and the other directors had already made plans. So I had a great time at home with family and even had a drink or two.

I had a choice of 2 runs this weekend as there is a 5k or 10k money raising event in Boyle Co. Roscommon at 13.00 this afternoon, and I will be going to that instead. It will be my first run other than a Parkrun and all participants will receive a medal, which will be my first one since a community games run in Mayo about 40 years ago where I came third.

I have no idea of the course as there is absolutely no information on it other than the registration link. Someone tagged another person regarding the race and said that the 10k route was very nice, so I think I will give that a go and try to run easy and enjoy the event.

Well I’ve run 5k over 2 days but I don’t suppose it counts I just wanted to come and say hello and read all about your parkruns and non park runs my overall time would be around the 50 minute mark, I’m building stamina again with slow steady runs

Out (not) parkrun was a 13k park walk, but I loved it. We're not doing christmas until Monday so we had a very different day with a picnic lunch. Can definitely recommend πŸ™ƒ

Hello Damien and all!Day late, sorry πŸ™„ Yesterday, like many others, was a long day. We got up at 4.30am so we could get everything together to travel to North Wales but also to get a parkrun in on the way up.

Katnap, youngest kitten and I did our 20th tourist parkrun at Alderford Lake near Whitchurch in Shropshire (eldest kitten stayed in the warmth of the car, very sensible!). There was a freezing wind and it was very muddy and slippy.

Thankfully the mood was lovely and cheerful with loads of people dressed up, which really made up for how difficult the course was. The chap doing the tourist briefing was very well kitted out in a Santa suit made to look like an elf was carrying him, and he made us feel very at home.

I should really have put some new trail shoes on my letter to Santa as my old ones had no grip on the slippery mud. It was fairly flat but there was an undulating section where the ups weren’t happening, particularly by the last lap when my legs had had it.

The numbers at this run are usually <100 but there were 123 on Christmas Day. I suspect it will get busier when Wales’ new restrictions come in. I managed to get 2nd in my age grade which made a nice change. 31:01 leg sapping minutes.

One of the surprising things when I looked at the stats was that the ratio of men to women was almost equal which was very good to see! Not sure I’d rush back though, it was reaaaallly hard work πŸ˜… but we really earned our Christmas dinner.

Hope everyone had a great day yesterday πŸŽ„πŸŽ„πŸ§‘πŸΌβ€πŸŽ„πŸŽ„πŸŽ„

Loved it! Have been steady plodding all week after booster on Tuesday so really needed to put some effort in for my second time at bramhall. Had some of the running group turn up as well and one of them was in the mood to push also so it definitely motivated me to go harder. There was 323 of us there in total and a very fast field. 22 runners under 20 minutes! Was surprised after pushing like I did to not even make the top 100. Finishing position was 101 with a time of 24:19. Was also the second muddiest I've been at parkrun. Some huge bogs which nobody was making any effort to avoid so I got some big splashes all up and down!
