Goodness me! How right could I get it? We've had rain, howling gales and more rain, then woke this morning to brilliant blue sky and sunshine We couldn't have faffed more if we tried, first Willows phone was flat then my ear buds were flattish, then my watch started syncing, I was just beginning to descend into the depths of is it worth it? When it all came together and we were off!

Where we park near the bridge to cross the river was having with cars and people so we turned round and went further along the river into town and parked. Walked along the main road, crossed the bridge (another one, there are many) down the steps and off I went, for the first kilometre I glanced behind me and Willow was walking but not far behind, I kept going, slow and steady. I'd chosen Mindful metres as a guided NRC run and the chatter was soothing, the time was passing nicely.

Everything felt good, muddy puddles and gravel but hey the day was perfect, windy but once the track had veered away from the river and trees lined each side it wasn't noticeable

30 minutes, just under 3k so ran on, turned and jeffed back, I had fun coming back, sprint walk jog walk sprint walk it was just fun and believe it or not but it was over just too quick, I was slightly faster the second half so ran 6k in just under the 60 minutes and ended the run strong. Up the steps, cross the bridge, back to find Willow waiting in the car.

The run was so enjoyable,

Run happy everyone

You certainly did time it right Sola. I haven’t run since Saturday so when I saw the sun this morning I was out there, running virtually with you. Enjoy your time off.

Thank you Dexy5 I've been watching the forecast and crossing my fingers, I intend on an hour outside every day and a bit of a run but a lot will be walking, it's just so good to be out in the sun

That sounds like the ideal way to start a 5-day break from work Sola! It was beautiful on our prom as well when I went out this morning - after the last few days it’s great to see the sun again isn’t it! Enjoy your break!

It really does seem to have been wet for ages, I'm itching to go to the top of the downs and look at the dew pond, it was nearly empty a few weeks ago but I bet it's nearly full now πŸ˜€

Fabulous run Sola; milk your days off for all they are worth! Glad you enjoyed your NRC run. Mine on Monday wasn’t so successful. I had absorbed Dexy5 instructions on set up before setting out, but things unravelled very quickly.

I had adjusted the volume pre run as it was too loud last time. This time it was too low, so I needed to stop/start to get it right. Then I discovered, but should have known, that touch screens don’t like gloves..so they had to come off whilst I did the stop/start on the app. I finally settled into the run and the realised, sometime later, that I hadn’t started my watch. Gloves off and more messing about! I eventually got everything going and got underway, but my relaxation levels were not good! It was one of those β€œfeel good about yourself” type themes. It fell on stony ground I am afraid! More training needed!πŸ€ͺ

It takes a while to get it all set up doesn't it? I choose my run before I leave home, choose my playlist and put my headphones on, keep it low or I'm shouting at Willow in the car and ignoring his answers, when we get out the car I turn the music up to a comfortable amount, set the watch looking GPS walk to warm up, start watch, start NRC, kiss Willow and go, so there's a bit of time before I actually start running, I slip my phone in my pocket and forget it, but gloves are a nuisance, luckily I haven't needed mine yet, a couple years ago I knitted us both fingerless gloves that just leave the tips of our fingers bare, enough for the phone and watch. If I leave from home I set it all up indoors then press go once I've left the house and pocket my phone.

Now if anyone can tell me how to get the music on my watch to run smoothly I'll be happy, it's fine if I sit still but cuts in and out when moving my arms while running

It was just bad luck with the gloves; first time on this year! Maybe I should snip a finger end (of the glove) off. It wasn’t Coach B’s fault … definitely a case of transferred malice… but it made me feel better anyway….

Ooh the terrors of the tech. I am sure we can all relate to that BC. It does get easier. I also practiced ringing up UTS using the headphones, while in the house before trying it on a run.

Thank you and yes it is great, last time I had time off I ended up being booked up every day for meals out and visitors so felt constantly full and didn't run much, this time I told no one

what a lovely day to start your 5 day hols. Hope the rest the same, supposed to be mild and warmer. A bit annoying when u think ready to go and battery flat phone and earbuds. I don’t think I could keep in my ears as have tiny lobes. I wear just the ones that come with the Apple iPad to my phone on Spotify. Good run as well nice 6 km , and lovely and picturesque your photo, u think it was summer again. Me and Mr D counting down the days to retirement and Mr D hopefully will get more runs in. Enjoy the rest of your break . 😊

I think I recognise that bridge. Is it the railway crossing on the Portsmouth/Southampton line?

Anyway, lovely day to be outside and still mild too. Great timing for your lovely run today.
