Run 2 week 2 in this heat

Let’s go along the river our friend says, we can walk a bit then when it flattens out we can do the app then walk round and back, ooo lovely i think, I persuaded Willow to come with us as it wasn’t going to be too far and it’ll be cooler along the river.

So…. we walk to the bridge and acrosss, remember her walking pace is our 5k running pace, then the path flattens out so run 2 week 2 is completed at a reasonable pace, and we keep walking and keep walking, come to a bridge, cross turn for back towards where we left the cars.

Walk, see some sheep under a big tree, walk some more, think we are nearly back and keep walking, oh my oh my back to the car and it’s 9k 😀

Home, several glasses of water and a cup of tea, now we are going to have a long soak in a hot bath…. that’s if we can ever get off the couch again 😂 😂 😂

The river was beautiful and serene, but 9k in this heat? even with most of it being walking

Happy whatever day it is to all,

It was hot 🥵 but we loved it, Willow stretched out on the couch and went straight to sleep, but now cakes in oven (i think we’ve earned them) and bath at the ready,

Lovely photo on a wonderful warm day, the weather where I am in Central Scotland is the same. That was a very good walk you had this morning, well done, by the way I completed my 5th 10 miles run earlier today, I started it at exactly 6.45 am and finished at 8.49 and 30 seconds, yes my time was 2:04:30, early start to avoid the heat of later in the day 😊 enjoy the rest of this sunny day 😊

That’s a great run Al, our problem was I was at work earlier and friend had to pop to doctors before we could go out so gone 10 before we could start

You can bask on the couch - or in the bath - to your heart’s content. It’s very well deserved! 💪🏼

Thank you 😊 well the cat was unwell all over our bed so duvet washed and on line, duvet cover in wash, cakes made and some eaten and dinner prepared and in oven, so not totally static, we enjoyed it but Willow is saying he’ll pass on the long one each week, I love being outside and moving further and longer though

Far from static! Take good care of that body battery. 🍥🔋😉

There was some shade for the running parts, when we crossed the river and changed direction there was a little breeze

Looks like a beautiful place to run or walk WaS! Well done on managing 9km in this heat! If it’s any consolation we’ve just had some rain which might now be heading your way!

Thank you OGR’s it is lovely, yes it’s clouded over and the lightening map shows a storm heading our way, it’s cooler too, it was hot this morning and wonderful to be out in it

Well done! I did something similar this morning. 10km at 9am. Oh my, was it hot!

I sweated buckets during the run and immediately I got back, wolfed down a packet of ready salted crisps and a long drink.

That's a long way! I don't think I ever walked to the river from Lancing. Well done! My husband waited in vain for the rain yesterday. It missed us out, so his plants are still needing watered.

We drove to Cuckoos corner, parked the cars walked towards Shoreham, over the bridge, walked towards Steyning over the bridge and back to the cars I hadn’t realised it was 9k but it was lovely We had a little rain but not much

Well done! That sounded exhausting! Perhaps your friend could go a little slower next time or stop for a short break. 🥵🙂
