Didn’t get out this morning so decided I’d do one this afternoon. Grandchildren arrived just as I was getting ready so was delayed again however determined to go out as it was such a nice afternoon. Finally got out and off I went up the hill and along the straight met another runner who ignored me☹️☹️ However I carried on then about halfway I felt my left knee give way. I slowed down as I could also feel my hip. Eventually had to stop and walk a while to try to see what was the issue although I’m still not sure. Started to run very slowly and managed to get back home but it was a slow slow run. Hip and leg now aching ☹️🤔☹️🤔. Done some gentle exercises but a bit anxious re hip again ☹️☹️☹️☹️

Oh no!!! that’s bad luck, flipping knees and hips, without them we couldn’t run but they can throw a spanner in the works, hopefully you’ll heal soon
you’re doing so well, I’m sure a short rest will be enough to sort your knee and hip ☝️Wishing you well.
yes it’s always best to listen to your body. I’m sure you’ll be back pounding the streets before you know it 🤞
I’m afraid not as I’ve joined a gym where I swim (they’ve a lovely outdoor pool), do Pilates and body pump classes. I ran a very short distance this morning to post a letter and really enjoyed it but there’s only so much you can fit into a day.! I keep saying I’ll get back into it though and your posts inspire me, especially as we’re the same age. Keep running 🏃🏽♂️
Sorry to hear that, hip issues are so common and can be very disabling so you’re doing well to run 2 miles. Swimming is great exercise especially if you have aches and pains. Also Pilates and yoga help to strengthen the core muscles I think we’re both doing really well as many people of our age group do far less than we do. Let’s focus on that and our achievements 👍. Well done to us!
