4 days to World Running Cup

… with only 4 days to go until the running challenge starts, there is still time to join our HU Running World Cup Team!

We have at the moment 44 runners signed up for this, double the number from last year. But the year before we had over a hundred!

As for the last couple of years, we’ve set up a Health Unlocked Team for the upcoming Running World Cup, starting Tuesday 20th September 2022 and finishing on Sunday 9th October 2022.

And I’m aware that we have runners coming from all corners of the world and we can all be on one team. And although we all are on one team, we each run for our own chosen country linked to your profile.

So there are two incentives here:

- run as part of your chosen country

- run as part of our team, and see how much distance we are collectively contributing (to our own chosen countries). there is also a team leaderboard and chat!

★★★ Your invite link to our team is ★★★

app.runningworldcup.com/tea...

All the usual running trackers can be connected.

And more info is at runningworldcup.com with a troubleshooting FAQ here runningworldcup.com/help-an...

One thing to note is that in order for your runs to qualify for being used towards the country total, they need to be at least 30min for 3k . All your runs are listed and tracked but only qualified runs are used towards country results.

Happy running

Fab! Let me know if you encounter any tech issues I can help with. There is a tech faq on their website.

I’m part of the team but it’s stopped syncing with my Apple Health app. Hopefully that will be sorted in the next couple of days cos I’m no help at the moment. I’ve emailed support.

I’m there, I did a couple of practice runs of 30 minutes both just over 3k so am feeling hopeful, mind you, Willow shared his cold and my weekend off has had no running but hopefully fully fit by Tuesday, just so i’m clear, if I run 3k in 30 minutes then carry on running ones the whole run count? because after 30 minutes I slow down even more

yes, definitely it will count towards your country total. All runs are actually tracked as well, so all runs count for something in the app. Just wether it will be counted towards your country’s total depends on the 3k/30 min thing.

But does the second 30 minutes have to be another 3k? I can run 6k in 69 minutes but in a good day, at the moment I’m full of cold and it takes a few days to recover . I’m a bit dense aren’t I?

I think it is a bit confusing, and I’d wish they get rid of that rule to be more inclusive, as well.

But it means that as long as your first 30 min are further than 3k, the run counts. Even if the whole run is 6k over 3 hours)

(What I don’t know is if you run 6k over 3 hours with only the last 30 min being over 3k… no idea if the app can handle that! )

Very clearly explained thanks 😊 I did those couple practices and was pleased because this year i seem to have slowed down even more, I’ve been gardening all morning so i doubt a run will happen until after work tomorrow and then Wednesday is 20th and my day off 😀

yeah, I wonder if the change of sponsor created a bit of a rocky road. We had quite a few glitches mentioned.
