Just to say we now have 99 members in the HU team - if you want to join, it's not too late!
I just want to clariify something GoGo_JoJo and I spotted this morning.
It seems it isn't just your first run which needs to be at least 3k in 30 minutes for this tournament.
We are pretty sure that only runs of at least 3k (where the 3k part takes 30 minutes or less) will count towards your country total. On your goal page it says:
Only qualifying runs (at least 3 km in 30 min or less) will count towards your countryβs total kilometres and your weekly personalised Vitality Running World Cup goal.
So, it's not just your initial 'qualifying' run that has to meet that criteria as we had first understood it.
If you're having any problems recording runs, let us know in the comments below and I'll see if I can find a way around it.
At time of posting, there are 100 members in the HU team, making us one of the biggest teams - it's still not too late to join - and we have a good selection of contributing runs recorded already. Well done everyone πππ
Go team HU!!!

Wonderful news, the number goes up by the minute, the first sentence was 99, by the time I got to the end of your post the number running for the HU team had reached the magic 100. π ππΎ
I did notice that a - 3k in 30 minutes was on that list of now a 100.
No running for me today but tomorrow I hope to run 6K.
Link garmin to mapmyrun then link mapmyrun as a tracker in VRWC, but you also need to tick the historical box when you link garmin to mapmyrun in order to pick up a run that has already happened.
Linking garmin to vwrc now won't pick up a historical run
Still trying to sort it out because I somehow managed to log two runs today πππ I linked my garmin and map my run so the same run appeared twice, albeit different lengths. Oops. Working on it.
I've removed garmin from map my run and vitality but double run still showing. I guess there are many people around the world that have the same problem so they must have algorithms as you say to weed out duplication. I'll just badk in the glory of having run so far this morning π thanks for input π€
Congratulations GRANNYHUGS, the Vitality World Running Cup Healthunlocked list states you are at number 3 with 15.89Kilometers ran, however, you say that might be a mistake caused by logging two runs, if so, do you have any idea how many kilometers you ran today?
To be honest there's probably a similar number of duplicated runs as there are runs not being picked up! Maybe it'll all balance out in the long run. Bit arbitrary though ππ€π€£
Goals page on vitality says 15.89/5km Iβve disconnected garmin from both map my run and vitality but map my run has all my historic garmin runs listed
Thanks for that info. Given that runs under 3k are appearing in the team runs but not in goal, I wondered if the duplicates were appearing in team runs but not in goal - but it seems duplicates aren't being picked up - not yet at least. Interesting, because they definitely say they will weed out duplicates. I have three trackers, and hope to run tomorrow - watch this space πππ
Hopefully as I've now disconnected Garminn my future runs will all just come off map my run. As map my run seems to be under measuring then by the end of the 4 weeks the difference may be taken up by the extra 8k recorded today. It must be happening to many other runners from other countries too so as you say it will all balance out. Personally I'm recording runs on garmin to reach 500miles in the year, mapmyrun was just specifically for this event. Happy running π€
These two times adds up to 15.89, that is what it says on the list, perhaps for future runs you should only use Mapmyrun like I do, so far I have not had any problems at all.
My digital goody bag has just dropped in my inbox. From a cursory review it looks OK. I think the free digital subscription to Women's Running will have to be changed to one for Old Men Jogging though!
My morning run shows on Strava but not on Vitality World Cup, even after 3 hours. I messaged them and they said allow 24 hours before panicking. π€£π³ Very confusing, as historic test runs do show & some folks seem to see theirs right away. But VWC message says they will send help sheet later if still not showing. π€
It is odd. I got the same response from them. Let's see what happens, and we always have the form to fall back on. Hope they get it sorted though as we could do with the fun without the hassle of double checking everything!
Yes. I thought Iβd cracked it after the test run showed up, but I havenβt changed any settings & thereβs no trace of this morningβs run yet. Will give it until tomorrow. π€
It's so odd that some people's are showing and some aren't. Their standard email is saying wait 24 hours, then use the form. When I was testing it last week, some stuff took more than 24 hours to show up! Flaky at best unfortunately π
Still no sign of it. I have double checked everything from their standard answer. I am really reluctant to go the βmanual uploadβ route. βΉοΈ So have sent them another message.... For something supposed to be fun, this is not a rewarding experience, Iβm afraid.
I agree with you! Can you remind me again what tracker(s) you are using. You mention Strava, is that recording the run using Strava on your phone, or by linking a watch to Strava? do you use anything else as well to record your runs?
I recorded the run with Strava on my iPhone. I do have a Garmin which I mainly use, but Iβm not so keen to provide access to all that data to a random organisation. I thought just reactivating Strava for this event & changing settings to βeveryoneβ would solve my own privacy problem. Was delighted when the 29 Feb run registered. But ... βΉοΈ ... just canβt get it sorted out again. Have you solved your issues?
I will run again tomorrow, weather permitting. We will see if that gets picked up ....
I now remember you told me that already, sorry. The activity is definitely recorded as a run I assume (I know vrwc is ignoring other activity types from strava)?
If I were you I would go through the process of their form for missing runs for the one you have already done. If they are inundated with those claims they may be more motivated to fix whatever is causing the issue. It really does sound as if you have done everything right, especially as you had already seen the earlier run picked up (out of interest, is that still showing under 'myruns'?)
I've managed to record using garmin, but deauthorised the other trackers before my run today.
Since coming home I re authorised mapmyrun, and all it's runs show. I then de authorised it so I don't double up. I then re authorised strava, and as yet nothing is showing up, but I will wait and see!
Thanks. Sounds like youβve cracked it. π Yes, it is def a run on Strava. And the test run from 29th is ticked as valid - length/speed, I assume - thereby increasing my grumble of course! I will see if I can do the manual upload this time.... And maybe tomorrow will work, who knows? Thanks for the help. ππΌπ
I agree it's rather confusing! It seems the team list is just showing everything we have run, as picked up from the trackers. However for the purpose of country total and personal goal, only runs meeting the 3k in 30 minutes are being counted
That's what it says on mine as well Annieapple, I ran 4.42 km on Thursday, so I only need to run 58 metres to get to 5K, however, on Saturday morning I intend to run 6 km, it might be interesting to see if I have to run further to qualify, perhaps 10K.
Only runs of at least 3km in 30 minutes will count towards your country total and your personal goal (even though shorter ones can still be seen in the team list).
To meet your personal goal, you have to run the distance they propose each week.
Thanks for that information Linda, they have proposed that I run 5K in the next 5 days, I have already ran 4.41Km, there is a big circle, not completely round, at 4.41, hence the 59 metres to run to complete 5K.
Good luck to you Linda for tomorrow, I could be a bit lazy and only run 59 metres tomorrow to make up the 5K but I am going to run 6K on a off road route near to where I live, could be interesting a week tomorrow when I go to my 17th parkrun, I don't usually take my Smartphone to parkrun but I may have to next weekend regarding the VRWC.
Update 1.15pm Saturday, I ran a 6k this morning, the circle is complete, I am at No. 21 on the Healthunlocked VRWC team list, was at No. 53 last night, 10.45K now ran, up from 04.41K on Friday, of course positions will change during the day.* I hope you had a good run today.
