Holiday running

I very rarely post anything (apart from my weekly Parkrun report) as my runs are usually fairly straightforward and uneventful. But today I’m away camping with my family and I actually decided (after packing my running gear just in case) to go for a short run whilst my husband was slaving over the camping stove! It was very warm (29c) and so I kept it to 3.6km but I’m so glad I went and enjoyed a different route. A year ago I had not long completed C25K and I wouldn’t have contemplated doing exercise whilst on holiday (heaven forbid!) but it goes to show how things and mindsets can change. I may even go again during the week! ☀️ 🌊 ⛺️

Ooh holiday running is just one of the best things about this running lark! My kit is always the first thing I pack when I go away 😍

New adventures, new scenery, new smells……

Enjoy your running tourism 🏃‍♀️

Well done Newbie! I love holiday runs too. I bet you’ll find yourself out there again before your holiday is over! 😀

Another vote for holiday runs here. Nothing like a change of scene, although with those temperatures, I’d say you were sensible to keep it short! Well done!🙂

Holiday running was one of the things that motivated me to start c25k! ☺️ Well done, it's not easy running in these temperatures. It looks absolutely gorgeous out there. Enjoy the rest of your holiday 😃🍹🦀🐚🌊🏃‍♀️

Thank you for all your kind words of encouragement 😊. I went for another run this afternoon, on sand! 😮 I decided to give it a go as the wet, firm sand seemed fairly okay underfoot earlier in the day. The beach is so beautiful here and the sea is home to lots of seals 🦭. I actually kind of loved it! I was seal watching as I went and I had to jump over some groins and weave around some huge rock sea defences. I’ll definitely be back and will be a bit braver about running on the beach when I’m back home.
