Oh my, I am just back from a lovely Holiday in a Camping Resort in Spain with my family. I brought my running gear and ran every second morning. The camping Park was pretty big and one lap was 2.5K, so I ran around twice and on other mornings I tried different routes. It was so nice running whilst the rest of my clan were fast asleep.

I weighed myself yesterday and I managed to put on 7lbs in just shy of 2 weeks. Beer, Wine, Bread, Chorizo and snacks. Anyway I’m back on the track now. I was just about 4lbs away from goal weight before I left. But anyway I know I can shift the extra weight in a couple of weeks again.

Looking forward to my 41st Parkrun tomorrow and my running buddy Oisin will be celebrating his 10th Birthday tomorrow by wearing his brand new Milestone 10 Parkrun T-Shirt for the first time. And just 10 Parkruns for me to complete before I qualify to get my Milestone 50 T-Shirt. My aim is to be at my goal weight and sub 26 min 5k by then.

Beautiful place to run Damien! Just imagine how much you might have put on without the running😬 Anyway we all deserve a treat on holiday. I’m pretty amazed, I’ve been away nearly 8 weeks in France and Spain and I’ve only put on 2lbs. Result 😃 Enjoy parkrun and good luck with the goals 🏃🏻‍♂️

Wow well done you. I wish I only put on 2lbs. I only have to eat bread and I put weight on. Throw in everything else😂. My wife on the other hand put no weight on at all. She is one of the lucky naturally thin people.

If I was gone away like you for 2 months I’d be destroyed.😀

No more of this for me 🍺🍷🍕🥖🍾🤪🥳🥓🧀🥐🍟🥘🍦🍩🍹

I must admit I do tend to avoid bread and cakes for that reason, but cheese, pate, wine 😋 I’ve lost 1.5 stones since I started running, but still another 1-1.5 to go so no room for complacency. Back to low fat next week!

Same here. I’d lost 2 stone. I was not far off my goal weight before the holiday. I’m going for it now.

Good for you for keeping the routine on holiday. It looks just lovely 🙂

You’ll be at parkrun now running your legs away 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️

Thanks. I actually surprised myself this morning. Got a new Parkrun PB. Shaved 15 seconds off my previous PB getting a time of 26:15. I’m delighted 😀

So you should be! Well done, that’s brilliant.

I put a few pounds on over 10 days in northern Spain. Every meal was served with a basket of bread, and oil - so yummy! I hardly ever eat bread at home. Anyway, after just a few days of getting back to my normal eating habits I've lost a couple of those pounds again. Parkrun today will have helped as well!

Yeah bread is my demon. I hardly eat bread anymore. Like that I was eating beautiful baguettes with breakfast, lunch and dinner washed down with wine and cheese. Back to the good life again.
