First run after the heatwave . . .

I was out this morning at just gone 7am despite still feeling a bit weary after quite a few very rough nights due to the heat. I went to the local country park, less than a 10 minutes drive away which I normally do as its not so pleasant to run there due to a busy road and a dual carriageway to negotiate. I didn't really have a distance in mind but did 4k which did actually seem quite hard work. Surprisingly enough my average heart rate was only 124 despite what felt like a lot of extra effort needed, this pushed my VO₂ Max up to 44 so Garmin tells me. Sometimes there's no logic to these things 😁

A great run, OG. This weather is a pleasant relief. 👍

Well done on a good run. 👍Maybe lower heart rate because you benefited from a few days rest? (Often find I have run best in that circumstance).

Not really sure, normally when I'm tired I get a higher heart rate and I didn't feel that energised, anyway another notch on the VO₂ Max scale is good 😁
