Enjoyed finishing week 3 of the NRC Starter Plan, completing both “easy runs” of the week back to back.
This fit so well into my planning as today or tomorrow I’ll be also attempting my first ever 10k rowing time-trial. So an easier running session was just the thing I needed.
Also, as it’s a bit cooler, and I have an annual leave day, I could head out a bit later, which always feels deliciously relaxed.
Added to that the chatting of Coach Bennett, telling me about how every run matters, even the short ones, even the slow ones, and even the ones you might not appreciate…. however I appreciated it very much. Also he focussed a bit on arms, which was useful.
Now sipping my (oat)milky coffee and a protein shake for breakfast, which I rather quite like!

Definitely agree. I did a deliberately easy run on Tuesday and it was enlightening.
Yesterday became an enforced rest day (circumstances prevented me getting out when I wanted) and today is a planned rest day (with a long walk this morning). It probably was a good thing after the long run on Wednesday.
Yes, and psychologically I feel much better when a rest day is intentionally planned in, rather than just happens because of other life/work events. 🥲😮💨😀
Yeah. I discovered CB back when I was consolidating from my 10k plan last year, so it’s great to have him back. And he’s big enough to be shared around plenty. 🤣🤣
