Easy paced runs

Hello everyone, I am convinced that I have discovered something that has helped me no end, I am sure that this may have been already obvious to everyone, but not me! I ran 7.3K this morning and it was the best run I have had in months, legs felt strong, breathing great and ended up running the final 3K with negative splits, around 4 minutes 50 second /KM pace.

Recently I have been running with my son, doing C25K, in addition to my own runs, these runs are generally a lot slower than my normal pace, approx. 6 minute /KM pace , however, I have found that after these runs my legs have felt a lot better, even better than if I had not done anything at all and I can run the very next day as well.

I think I will definitely continue this approach, at the moment it seems to work... famous last words!

Cheers

V.

That is some rapid pace there at the back of the run! Well done indeed. I agree that slower running is ideal for setting up your quicker paced runs. When you are in that flow and it all feels good it really is a great place to be

Thanks. Yeah I agree, felt like I could have continued to 10K this morning, but thought better of it just in case I ended up doing myself a mischief!

Great effort, your fast pace is fantastic but well done supporting your son at the slower pace. I always go out with the intention of slow (for me) but the first few kms are always too fast. Need a slow buddy 🤣🤣 happy running 🤗
