Finally after weeks of making excuses made it to my local park run. Absolutely loved it. The volunteers were amazing and although found it quite difficult as it was hilly route will definitely be back x

You'd love it I'm sure, especially if the people are as welcoming as our one in Boston. It's the hilight of my weekend!! 🤣🏃‍♀️

I’m sure that once I pluck up the courage to go it will be a regular Saturday morning date!

Congratulations on completing your first parkrun, wherever that was, I hope you enjoy further parkruns on a Saturday morning. 😊 🏃🏾 You are correct in saying that the volunteers are amazing, so are the runners, joggers and walkers.

Well done! 💪🏃‍♀️ My nearest park run is also quite hilly, and I think I would need to practice running up some hills before attempting it! 🤔

Lots of people took the opportunity to walk up the hills so don’t let that out you off. Xx

My first parkrun was relatively flat but stony (Sale Water Park). My local (Chadderton) is hilly but in a sneaky way: there's an obvious climb up an s-shaped curve, but the insidious one is the long gradual climb up along the river bank.

And even though I could run for 18km by the time I did my first ever parkrun (July 24 last year), I found myself having to walk for periods during my first two visits. It took me four attempts at the beach parkrun (Spring this year) before I could pace myself correctly enough to not need a walk break.

I fear hills much less nowadays and often overtake folks on the steep climb there.

Well done on completing your first!

Thank you…. Found it quite difficult not to go out at sprint with the majority but felt more comfortable after a couple of laps. X

Well done on your first Parkrun, I walked part of mine several times before I could run the whole way. Be careful, it’s addictive😂

Well done, it's addictive, you wait and see! I joined last year thinking I'd do the odd one or two, now, the hilight of my weekend is the Parkrun!! 😃🏃‍♀️

Well done I started c25k in January and did my 1st run as soon as I finished that programme! I have done 12 since and love it now! Ours is a beautiful run along the coast in Bridlington finishing with a trail through the grounds of an old country house!
