Returned a positive test today. 7days of isolation applies as per current rules. No running for next week either. Hope I will be able to start from where I left off 🤞

Oh no! I was thinking of you in your last post. It took me also 3 days of symptoms before testing positive! Didn’t want to say. 😟

Well you’ve got us to keep you company: 💛💛💛

Make sure you drink lots Vit C and water. Hope your symptoms are manageable. Mine were, and although I was testing positive for a full 17 days, only 3 were really flu-like awful, but never critical.

Get well ❤️‍🩹 soon!

CBDB thanks. So far I am managing ok, experiencing flu like symptoms. Just concerned about my fitness levels after I recover from the symptoms. And what to do with myself while isolating!

Plan a post-JJMP Plan? (I love planning, see healthunlocked.com/bridgeto... )🤣🤣

Me too! That's a good idea 👍Your plan looks very pro.

Ha ha, it took the equivalent time to make of two Covid-down times…. But was really good fun. And whilst developing it and finishing JJMP, my anticipation grew! Have fun contemplating about running anyway, with or without planning a plan. 👍🏽

And thx for reminding re VitC. I will up my intake.

I watched some quite good running docs on Prime to keep me motivated. I was worried about losing fitness but my first run back was actually ok. Didn’t break any records but it was just SO nice to be out running 😊. You may find that your bimbling skills improve in the meantime 😁.

Oh bad luck, although you are in good company as a fair few of us HU folk have had it! I tested positive for 5 days and felt pretty rubbish for 2 or so of those days. And my cheese tasted like fish briefly! I managed a couple of short walks to stop me going crazy but only because I felt up to it. Be kind to yourself and hopefully you’ll be over it sooner rather than later . 😊😊😊

Thats good advise..I might go for a walk close to home when I am feeling a bit better. Thanks !

It affects everyone slightly differently (for me, at one point it felt like I'd burnt the roof of my mouth with cheese-on-toast). Allow yourself some rest.

Thanks nowster , yep have been resting for past couple of days. Currently I am fluctuating between mild & moderate flu symptoms, it suddenly changes. I am just hoping it does not get worse.First time hearing of burnt mouth...probably has to do with change in taste that they say can happen?

I never had any change in taste or smell. I did have cold/flu type symptoms. Also a strange cool tingly feeling in the lungs.

I was mostly over it in a week, and back to normal in my running within two weeks. Others haven't been as fortunate.

Think of it as a planned running break Me_time. I hope your symptoms are mild, and you’ll soon be back where you left off.

Thank you Dexy5 . Funnily, I am missing going for run and a bit worried the gap will be too big! Symptoms have been manageable so far. They switch between mild & moderate. I am taking some herbal teas that are anti inflammatory & immune boosting and hoping the vaccine will play its part too :)

I too have recently tested positive. I'm now on day 10 and still testing positive. I’d hoped to be over it before now but I feel so drained I’m sure that going for a run would be a bad thing. So, I’m taking it easy and know from my last break when I had a shin/ankle injury, that one’s stamina does not just drop off a cliff and you recover your fitness fairly quickly. I think by Monday, I’ll be able to go for a short 10 minute run and build up from there. Listening to your body is vital!

Vragtes thank u for taking out time to comment. I am not going go test myself again but I will follow ur advise of listening fo my body once the isolation ends. Its the non-stop cough that's draining me.

I hope u have recovered from ur symptoms. I am on day 5 since onset of the symptoms & I was hoping like everyone else I know, the symptoms will disappear in a day or two, 3 max!

Hi Me_time-glad you’re getting over it. Luckily, I didn’t have a really bad cough like my wife who really suffered (and is still affected) with the cough. I think you’re being overoptimistic in expecting to feel better as quickly as you hope but fingers crossed. Certainly listen to your body and, if you feel tired, take it easy. You can do some serious damage to your body post-viral if you overdo things.

Absolutely agree with you and I ended up testing myself a few times because even though my official isolation time had ended, I was still unwell, coughing quitr a bit and tested myself. It was positive. Today I am mostly symptom free and tested negative too. Yay! Tried to do a test run this arvo and did about 5.5km nice and easy pace and feeling fine so far 🤞

Take it easy! You might find you're tired for a while.

5.5km on your first post-virus run is pretty good. Hope you haven’t overdone it. I felt quite tired after my short runs but nothing as drained as when I had the virus.

I hope so too. I didnt feel breathless or any discomfort or cough. It was at a conversational pace. I could have done longer run as I felt fine but did not want to overdo it.
