Which one of you has stolen Coach B? Come on! ‘Fess up!!

Today I went out for some quality time with Coach B and he wasn’t there. The NRC app was open. He should have been ready. He wouldn’t play on any of his runs. I can only conclude that one of my fellow groupies has kidnapped him and prevented him from running with me. I am bereft!

Well, not all the bereft really. I’d just updated the app and this often happens. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the app and I’m hopeful he’ll be back tomorrow. In the absence of company from my favourite coach, I listened to a Women’s Running podcast on nutrition. Episode 177: Nutrition with Runner Beans. I really liked it and would totally recommend it. I wasn’t sure if it would be a bit preachy, cut out all the bad stuff and just eat broccoli etc but it was more about what you can add to your diet to make it better. Some great tips on how to make healthy meals easier to achieve and freezing wine as ice cubes for your bolognese so you don’t have to open a bottle or resort to inferior stock cubes.

So a 2 mile run, all at a super easy pace because I’d dressed too warm but didn’t have a t shirt on under my sweatshirt (rookie error)! The best bit was seeing snowdrops for the first time this year.

Happy running everyone and hope Coach B is returned safe and well for my next run (and yours too!) ❤️

Maybe it was because Coach B was with me doing Starting Lines 😁

He got worried when I said something nice about Coach Cory the other day so had to give me his full and undivided attention. Sorry, but what can a girl do? Next time I run with him I'll have a word and make sure he goes back to you when you need him.

PS beautiful snowdrops!

I think you could be right-it sounds like you had a good time with him so I’ll try not to be too jealous! Coach Cory is great too. He’s got such a good voice.

I’ve got a break from him over the weekend but I’m hoping everything will be sorted for Monday. I put my garmin run into the app last night so it counted towards my total….look at this in the picture! Had no idea I was so close or I’d have kept going. I think tomorrow will be the day!!!

Thank you! I can’t believe I’m so close but not quite tipped over! My legs are really stiff after Zumba yesterday so it was a swim, Pilates and a walk. Hopefully tomorrow will be the day! I’m already thinking about ordering trainers…

If you do one of the really short recovery runs on the 10k plan it'll take you right over the line!!

Good luck :)

Hope Coach B returns soon and thanks for the tip about the wine ice cubes!!!!

That wine tip was such a good one. We don’t usually finish a bottle and then it sits in the cupboard until it goes down the sink. Much better to have it in the freezer to use in sauces and stews! The podcast also recommended roasting a stack of extra veg when you do your Sunday dinner so you’ve got it cooked and ready for salads through the week. I loved that idea too. I’d never bother to roast parsnips for a lunch salad but if they were just ready in the fridge, I’d definitely use them. I might listen again when I’m not running and take notes!!

The wine tip's a really good one...if you have leftover wine (hic!)

Actually, to clarify, the reason we don't have leftover wine is we tend to buy it in boxes so it keeps 😎

I roasted a double quantity of butternut squash yesterday, just had the leftovers for lunch, lovely.

I think running with me earlier in the week... he was overwhelmed ? What a super run you had though?

Plus... recipe ideas and a hint of Spring to come!!! Thank you !

PS

CB ...He will be with me on Sunday x

You can have CB on Sunday but I’d like him returned for Monday morning. We’ve got (10k plan) plans together!! Tomorrow I’m taking MrU out for a run and I think Coach B would be a gooseberry, and Sunday will be a day of rest with some home yoga with Adriene!

Spring puts a spring in all our steps! ❤️

🍏🤣🤣 He’s pretty good at dividing his time out between his ladies so maybe it’s Daniel the engineer we need to watch out for 🤣

However sometimes plan B in our runs turns out to be just what we needed! What a beautiful 3K run! Gorgeous display of snowdrops!!! Thanks for sharing. Running brings us many rewards! 🎁

😂😂😂 you’re right, he certainly gets around. I love this time of year. It’s a rest day here so after Pilates and a swim to stretch everything out after yesterday’s run (and Zumba which felt like a HIIT class!), I’ll go and hunt for some more snowdrops in a reliable spot for them. I love it when they’re out again.

You’re so right about a plan B. Some of those have been my favourite runs!

I didn't have him, it's been a while since I've bothered with guided runs as I'm doing so little.

Sometimes we all need a quiet period of running for whatever reason-illness, tiredness, busyness…anything that life throws at us! You’re doing the right thing by being kind and patient with yourself-the runs will be back when you’re ready. ❤️

I ran A Cold Run with him yesterday MissU but he definitely went his own way afterwards. I hope he turns up for the next one with you.

That cold run is a good one-glad he kept you company! I’ll let you know if he stands me up again! 😂

What annoys me is when he starts a run with you, then says “I’ll see you at 1k” - and never comes back! Happened two or three times to me 🙄

😂😂 you’re not wrong about that!! I’ve had the same on distance based runs. The signal is rubbish around here and always undercounts my distance so there’s a loooooong gap! He sometimes makes up for his absence by playing all his comments one after the other and then abruptly ending the run. That’s quite exhausting to listen to!!
