Completed my first ever race yesterday- the Southampton 10000 and finished in about 1 hour 19 minutes with an average pace of just under 8 minutes per km (that’s fast for me lol). The course was great but running (walking) over the steep Itchen Bridge twice is tough. Here’s a photo of it taken by Mike Daish Photography yesterday. Can’t see me 🤣 I would have been behind the camera - way behind. Loved every single minute of it. I love the support on this page, it most definitely helps. My second race is next Monday at the London Vitality 10000. Hope you all had great weekends xx

Thanks IP, yes got bling and a t-shirt. Bananas and all sorts of snacks at the end too. I also high-fived a dinosaur somewhere along the route so it was all-in-all pretty amazing x
Thanks Cmoi. There were 1579 runners in the 10k alone. Not sure how many in total but there was a marathon, half marathon and a 5k too! As I was near the back it wasn’t too crowded luckily x
That's exactly what I was thinking! I'm OK with my local parkrun with about 60-70 people, but 1500?!
We had a 10 miles run here in Belgium yesterday (not me though) in Antwerp. It goes through a couple of tunnels and the last one often 'kills' a lot of people. Maybe your next challenge? 😉
You never know, this time next year 🤣! I would actually love to do some running tourism. I am particularly interested in doing the Bordeaux parkrun because they have about 6 runners in total so I’ll have a chance of being in the top ten at a parkrun 😂
