After a year of running I was getting more and more fed up with my user name so as an early birthday present to myself I've decided to ditch the negativity and show my old bad knees some love.
So from here forward I am no longer OLDBADKNEES I'm YESLETSGO because I think that's much more cheerful

I’m so glad I caught this as I would have wondered where OBK had got to! And then thought that YLG sounded very similar and I’d have got very confused which as ever, doesn’t take much 🤣. What a great birthday present to yourself, love it. I’ve considered changing my name to sorecalves or unhappyhamstrings many a time, if I’m honest, but never got round to it and generally various body parts start behaving again after a while 😃. Have a great day Yesletsgo , and adios bad knees.
Good idea YLG, and have you found that through running the knees are better anyway? My lower back arthritis is fine as a result of running and strengthening the muscles.May you enjoy pain free knees when you run and indeed keep 'going' as your new found name suggests. Best wishes ☺️
Glad to hear your arthritis has improved, it's all so counter intuitive when you first start. Lots of conflicting information.
Over the last year things have got much better. Starting C25K was worrying as I'd been mollycoddling the knees for the previous 40 years. Once I started to enjoy it I decided that it was better to wear out than to rust, to paraphrase Neil Young, and like you it's all been very positive. The only injury I had was nothing to do with my knees so 🤞 for the future. What I do find strange is I can run 5-8km with no pain at all, but going downstairs first thing in the morning can sometimes be an ordeal 😂 (usually if I haven't run for a few days so work that one out!)
Think of something that makes you smile when you say it 😀Years ago I went on a very expensive training course and the only thing I remember is this: the trainer said that whenever someone says 'how are you' you should reply 'fantastic!' People don't expect that and your positivity rubs off on them. The conversation is immediately energised.
Contrast when you answer 'I'm so tired'. They'll immediately tell you they're tired too and before you know where you are you're discussing rheumatics, lumbago and bunions.
