I got up this morning determined to do my usual little 20 minutes of running looked out to see thick fog. Mmm π€ I thought will have to run into the village today. Got ready including some hi viz and set off. Got to the end of the drive and turned left. Derrrr. Carried on out of the village and into even more fog. It was a strange run very quiet apart from the odd bleat of a new lamb. A couple of cars came out of the fog and avoided me although I was on the verge by then. I ended up doing my usual run but a bit slower as I had to keep leaping on to the verge as more cars appeared. First ever π« foggy run done β btw back stood up to it too maybe cos I was slower. Happy running πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
A foggy trot: I got up this morning determined... - Bridge to 10K
A foggy trot
Spooky! I like a foggy run, although it's a bit easier where I am cos there are no cars - well done xx
Well done! I bailed on my early run yesterday because of the fog and did a later one instead. Next time Iβll be braver!
Well done! πππ I haven't done any foggy runs in a while but I used to like them. The lack of visual cues was quite liberating and I was just running. It almost felt like meditation! However, I'm also lucky that there are no cars where I run, not sure I'd be brave enough to run on roads in the fog π«οΈ
I felt like that over winter, running on an off-road tarmac track with no light other than my headtorch. The world narrows to just a small point, and it's just me and my audiobook and my feet - although I love running in the spring sunshine, I really enjoyed my dark evening runs too.
Oh yes, I used to love that too! When I first completed c25k I went through it with my other half and we did our consolidation runs after work in winter. As you say, no lights, just our headtorches. So special. Now I run on my own so I avoid that particular route in the dark but I do miss those runs.
